It might be they are slipping and they want to make sure they can still compete from Jan 1st to end of the season and finish at least in the playoffs. Other teams will also strengthen to try and ensure the playoffs at least.

Just looked at his history and he had four seasons with Peterbro earlier in his career.
He averaged around one goal every four games.
A good signing for them as they have recently been on a bit of a slide.

This news is a Rovers related as they are one of the teams we are competing with for promotion.

Hopefully our Championship on loan striker will be as good.

I would have said Tomlin was a good signing but now I believe Herbie is the better of the two. The next 5 months will show

Eaves would be a good shout from me, someone who can stick the ball in the net and be a good foil for Marquis. Trouble is, even though his contract runs out at the end of the season, their chairman still believes they can mount a challenge for promotion. Stating that if they're in the championship they would probably sign new contracts. Or is that just talk as Rangers are sniffing about wanting him so it ups the price. Either way, he'll get to see how good we are come end of month.
