The bench....
« on February 09, 2019, 08:12:53 pm by adamtherover »
If lawler wasn't Injured and Marko.was.on the bench that would have made all 7 legitimate first team starters who had any of them.started no one would have batted an eyelid.
We have 18 (incl Joe wright) senior players in my eyes. And I'm not talking.about age, just the ability to perform at a.quality league one level. Grant and especially the board need massive thanks for turning this side round in the shortest impossible.
GM has a magic eye for a player, Kane, Wilks,  Crawford, Smith, sadlier,  downing, the jury is out on young lewis.   In recent times.we.sometimes only had john.who we could trust in bagging a goal. But jeez,  we now have goals.all.over the place and for.GM to bring on 2.strikers whilst 2_1 up. Absolutely outstanding..

I was told the Crawford deal was in progress before Grant was appointed, and he agreed to go along with it.
So could be thanks Fergie for the tip off.

Crawford would have struggled as a CB though.

The jury is out on young Lewis?

I thought he was excellent today and can count himself unlucky to be subbed, he did nothing wrong and in fact it’s very rare you see a right back looking so comfortable putting crosses in with his left foot

Agreed thought Aaron Lewis was highly impressive in his home debut & think he only got subbed because he took a knock about a minute prior to going off

Lewis is solid enough, but couldn't cross a road.

Thought he was poor
He put in about 7-8 crosses and hit a posh player or goalie 7-8 times
We improved immeasurably when Blair came on

I liked Lewis' willingness to get forward and his tenacity, but his crossing was very poor and he struggled against their man in the second half. The sub was probably done because of that and because, against a narrow ten men, Blair offered more incisiveness and patience as an experienced player.

I thought Lewis took too many easy options trying to get the ball in the box but he's clearly a decent player and when he settles in, I think he'll be good and attack the spaces better. He can cross with both left and right which is a great advantage!

I thought he put some great early crosses in but the strikers weren’t alive to them

I thought Blair came on to give us additional pace and attacking ability down the right.
Lewis was ok but I would hope can do better.

This. Our strikers never seem to want to actually attack the ball. Has to be square on their forehead or they don't seem arsed. A few times this season we've had a ball go across face of goal that just needs someone chucking themselves at it but no one will.
