We've made it to issue 100 of popular STAND fanzine, and so to celebrate a landmark issue we've got a landmark interview. Yep, we've a very in-depth chat with James Coppinger in which he talks about everything from his mental approach to Uri Geller's hospitality as well as his favourite Rovers moments and the potential of the current squad.

Beyond that it's another packed 40 page issue - here's what's in it.

We'll be selling from around 3.50pm on Saturday, still only £1 but if you wish to pay more it would be welcome as all profits go to local good causes.

And don't forget to join us after the match upstairs in the Doncaster Brewery where we're having a bit of a booze up to celebrate 100 issues, with live music from Great Leap Forward.

Oh the potential irony of "Great leap forward" !

Never mind - sure we will prevail but I did say Pompey would win last night "because they had to".

If the Fanzine has an "egg on face award" I would be on a shortlist of 50 for that

Doncaster Brewery here I come ! 8pm (maybe a little sooner - hopefully a lot later !!!)

Loved the interview with Sean, so looking forward to this one with Copps. 100 issues is fantastic and everyone should be proud of the continuing success of popular stand, it's always high quality.

Will hopefully be able to see you all at the "afterparty" too!

Cheers RA.

Just giving this a nudge, and also we've got about a dozen of our limited edition 'Bernard Glover' badges left (Pin badges that depict the unimpressed looking Rovers fan that serves as the fanzine's mascot).

If you want one I'll have them under the statue on Saturday. £3.50 each, £2 of which goes into our charity pot.

Cheers Glen, much appreciated.👍
Disappointed that I can't be there but a family do in Morley so no way I can get back to Bradford and then across to Morley in time. 😳
Let's hope that we are all celebriting, although I'll be driving so only a pint for me.

Another nudge as all UK and overseas subscriber copies have now gone in the post. Electronic subscriber copies will be with folk on Sunday.

Otherwise make sure you pick yours up Saturday, especially for the in-depth interview with Coppinger which is another fascinating read.

We've increased our print run again for this issue, but I still advise you to get one from us well before the game to avoid disappointment as we sold out in record time with issue 99.

Hi Glen, Popular stand arrived this morning but no badge in. No worries if there are none left.
I hope that it's a great day and plenty to celebrate tonight.
See you later, Dave

I don't think you're as sorry as you're suggesting. Yeah no worries, have kept two back. Drop us an email at popularstand@outlook.com and we can sort out postage/payment.

Hi Glen, Popular stand arrived this morning but no badge in...

Yep, sorry - had two people ask for a badge with their 'zine and that was enough to confuse me and forget one. Have just dropped you a PM.

Everyone else, don't forget to pick up your fanzine from 4pm onwards outside the Keepmoat.

It's a bloody good issue, so make sure you don't miss out.

Great interview with Copps. Interesting insight into Rob Jones who many slated  and Dean Saunders who many feted.

Also, piece on Marquis was absolutely spot on.

Well done Glen and the rest of the team, I appreciate that it must have drained your mind and energy to produce the Popular Stand.
I have always bought them and now I feel guilty because I never contributed any pieces to help fill the pages.
Chill out now and enjoy the rest, good luck with the future.

After the nerves and drama of yesterday afternoon I've spent this afternoon reading my copy of the fanzine.   Another fantastic read and thanks and congratulations to Glen and all the contributors.
I don't have a creative bone in my body so I can't imagine what it takes to put together something like this but I sincerely hope that someone picks up the baton and continues the great work done so far.

You dont need a massive creative bone to be part of it though. Leave the flash stuff (and most of the work to the Editor ho ho ho)

If you want to contribute you could try a 250 Word Report - have you done one yet ? Great fun. Some play it straight - some go for Comedy but I have done quite a few. I have always been pleased with what I have submitted - maybe the readers of them have not ! Its like a game of chess - and if you have to "lose" 5 or 6 words its great fun working out huw to do it and still saying what YOU want to say

I was put off initially because Glen produced the (for me) best line in a 250 word report after Copps's outrageous ball control over in the NE corner of the Ground and he said of it " he stood out like a Goth in a snowstorm"

Undaunted I tried not to compete but went for my own style and I am happy with what I submit - so give it a go - and then pick one of the other regular "features" and throw the words down on the paper - its great - and it keeps the Fanzine current topical and thriving

Best bit is - this is mine and the Editor cant get at it lol

Is there a doubt it will continue ?    I am hoping that behind the scenes someone has been groomed to take over ?

As Mike Follows says on Twitter (and I quote as well as I remember what he said) - "it needs someone with lots of time - and less sense than me The first will be easy the second a bit more difficult"

We have hopefully someone waiting in the wings - but hopefully as I say they have already been identified and prepared ?

Thanks for all the kind words on issue 100; glad so many of you enjoyed it. The Coppinger interview was a joy to do, so glad that's gone down well.
