Darren is very impressed with the Cantley training facilities, and also the Keepmoat pitch which Huddersfield complemented last night. He is very pleased to have got the man he wanted as his assistant who he says is a workaholic, and a good football man, also the staff and behind the scenes staff he inherited.
Work on incoming transfers is in progress, concentrating on players he really wants to bring in, and knows will complement and improve who is already at the club, and because of this we have pulled away from some who were targets. so nothing will be quickly resolved, but talks are in progress. he and Gavin gave no indication of anyone leaving the club, and Darren spoke glowingly of John Marquis, James Coppinger, and others, and he hoped to bring in another goalkeeper as well as other positions which he did not elaborate on.
It was a great meeting those were the main points on the team building I can remember, the club will not let the hot sun be a problem again, and will move spectators if needed in future, John chaired the meeting impeccably and the top table including Gavin and Shaun answered every question thrown at them.

When asked about only playing one substitute on Wednesday he explained that the other players had played a full match that morning at Cantley and he wanted everyone to play full games. for that reason they are also playing a Barnsley eleven Saturday morning which may or may not serve as Joe Wrights ban game so he can play in the afternoon against Hull.
They also confirmed that the reserve team and junior teams would play at the same level as last season, and arrange more behind doors friendlies.

Just to reiterate, and make sure that the point has not been lost here, a lot of our cup run money has been spent at Cantley Park, which is now receiving compliments from our new management team.

To be fair it’s about time cantley park training ground was shown some love makes all the difference having somewhere nice to walk into.
Dunno if the road leading up to it has been sorted but really needs it some potholes are big enough to lose your car down it
