Spare parts aren't gonna sign for us to sit around waiting to be needed.

Good midfield players can pkay anywhere. Whiteman an can move further forward if needed.

That might be Moore's intention?

That’s not Whitemans forte though and plays best infront if the back four. He’s our asset and we should be developing/prioritising his needs overs Sheafs.

Tend to agree, but it wasn't too long ago that it was thought his best position was being behind the front two. He scored a good few goals. Ben is a good player period, including between the sticks, but you're right, he's made that position his own and there aren't many better.

It’s all about cover for injuries too, especially in midfield. Remember how we would dread an injury to Stock, Wellens, Kane, Whiteman, Warboys, Snodin...it’s your ‘engine room’, you need good ‘spare parts’!

Not sure Warboys ever played midfield like 😛

I think in the latter years of his career under Bremner he played in every position bar goalkeeper. In fact Bremner said of him “If only we had 11 Alan Warboys” so mebbe’s Billy had an eye on him turning out in a green shirt & gloves before he hung his boots up!😉

If villa cover a percentage of his wage that he expects then could be a goer
if a team is releasing a player why would they pay part of his wages, I don't know just asking the question

Depending on one of them signing we could have Whiteman, Sheaf, Crawford and Bigirimana all better than this guy. It's probably fake news.

City paid part of Adebayor's wages when they f**ked him off to Spurs a few year ago so it does happen if the owner wants rid badly enough.

I think it can happen if a team desperately wants rid without paying off his contract. You pay off a portion of his wages up until the date of the end of his contract so you end up paying less that you would if you just terminated the contract.

He may be good enough for us, but certainly his value is way below £5m these days. I'd imagine he is affordable.

He played 1264 mins (equivalent of 14 x 90 mins) for Villa, Forest and Reading in the Championship between 2014 and 2017. 13 starts in total, 8 of which he was subbed. And 12 sub appearances. Scored once with 11 yellows in that.

Last two seasons in Scotland in which he got 30 starts.

He would be a quality addition the the squad IMO.
A good age too for Moore to develop.
