Saw that. Very pleased they did that. Will help a lot of needy people. But it is not much of a donation is it? Food we were going to throw away we gave to the needy instead of the bin. If they had paid for food over and above their sunk cost then that would have been laudable. Still at least some folk got a feed they would not have otherwise.
The game was called off and the cost of the food was sunk. What were the other options? Ring up shops and offer them a discount for a load of second hand food? They had bought it and were left with the cost. Options were bin or to the needy or homeless. Glad they took the later action but let us not have Forest down as the great philanthropists of our time. Also noted that shame there were not too many food parcels coming north in 84/85 either...
