Awful game, if DM says he was pleased with any aspect of that game I would question his mental state, too many players out there going through the motions for me

How many of the team really care? Most are either on loan, short term contract or out of contract at the end of the season.

It’s ok though, some will say we’ve still got a chance of the playoffs. Utterly deluded if you think that.

There is still a chance if we have a few players lined up at the start of the transfer window and we can scrape some results up till then, we have tended to do better against the better teams but we need whiteman back quick

With the players we lost, this season was always going to be tough. I know Copps needs to be used sparingly but I would’ve rather made certain we got the points today than rest him for a game we’ll get nothing from anyway!
Let’s see what happens in January, Moore needs time.

Doesn't he need both? Backing and time?

We can only play as well as the opposition will allow you to play and Stanley has a game plan and we fell into it , our problem is not seeing teams off when we’re winning . Ref didn’t help the game and was poor by not taking yellow card decisions when the game called for it .

Do the maths.
Agree unlikely but with 2/3 additions in January then it is possible.

If we can make some progress with good signings in January, tie better players down to long term deals, start blooding younger players and we have a better second half of season than first half, then I won't be too bothered where we finish outside of the relegation spots.

I'm going to Peterborough on Thursday, but with great trepidation. With the players they've got, and the form we're in, I can't see how we can possibly get anything from the game.

Our whole season now hinges on January. 1 win in 10 tells us that the current squad is nowhere near good enough for the top 6.

We are at the very least 3 quality players short.

How can you say we can’t possibly get anything from the game. May as well not turn up then.
Ridiculous. Who is to say we won’t find our form again on Thursday and who is to say Posh won’t turn out a below par performance.
It’s 11 human beings against 11 human beings isn’t it.
Crikey I hope the players go out on the pitch with a more positive attitude than you Steve or we really are DOOMED before we get on the pitch.

If we had started Ennis instead of Thomas I think we might have been much more effective as an attacking force in the 1st half.
Thomas was quite awful today and looked way off League 1 standard on that showing.
He spent more time on the floor than he did stood upright.

Ennis has to start at London Road.

If we retain either of Thomas or Bingham then it will tell us all we need to know about our ambitions going forward. There’s far too much work to do for one window, imho.

The midfield, currently, is simply not up to standard and with no real goal threat amongst them - that has to improve and we’re all very well aware of the other problem.

Keep saying it but this very poor form has been going on now since the 8th September.
Since then to put it into perspective we’ve managed two points less than Bolton
Relegation form

What support did Thomas get today he was left isolated on numerous occasions.

I do to a point agree but he has neither the physical prescence or movement at this level to be a big threat.  Will not knock his effort but he is below this level.

As ever, the context is absent. It is true that since the (seemingly randomly chosen date of 8 September - a Sunday, oddly) Bolton Wanderers have chalked up 16 points from 13 games in League One, while we have only managed 14 points. Awful, right?

But once you actually look at the evidence, there are plenty of clubs around us who struggling to match the form of Bolton. Sunderland have won no more points than Bolton over this period, Burton managed only a point more, while Lincoln City managed only 12 points - less than us and well short of Bolton.

Is the form good enough, not really - but randomly selecting a period when Bolton Wanderers have picked up form and using that to make us out to be some basket case, is not credible. If we are a lost cause because we cannot match Bolton in this period, then plenty of clubs around us in mid table are in same position.

I think most of it is down to expectations we started well and had on paper games we would hope to get quite a few points off, I’m more hopeful we will get points against the better teams as I think our style of play suits it

We need to go to 4-3-2-1 and:
* sign a decent striker (not two rejects from Scotland)
* sign a proper git for midfield to support the 2 of Whiteman and Sheaf
* sign a nasty argumentative bas**rd as assistant manager - to balance DM.

Bolton are bottom of the table and they’ve got more points than us over the last 13 games.
It’s totally and utterly irrelevant what anyone else has got, people have been saying it’s just a blip and your mate campsall has been saying only a few weeks ago everything was great.
Obviously not

I’m sure that I remember a thread on here a couple of months ago which suggested that we didn’t have any difficult games up to Christmas .... well we haven’t won any of them and now have a series of more difficult games to come.  We desperately need a win to boost confidence and get the season moving in the right direction, as at the moment we are very much looking over our shoulders.

Bolton's form has picked up in the last couple of months, and on merit they would be up to 21st now which isn't bad considering how their first month was.

Anyway, we need to be looking at ourselves not other teams. Our form isn't good enough at all and our play has regressed worryingly. The squad needs several additions to improve or else our season is going to be over before it ever began.

That’s the point though, I am looking at ourselves and pointing out our form has been very poor for a much longer period than some on here woukd let you believe.
Over 3 months now of relegation form

Do you think we’ll be relegated?

It’s not that I value your opinion (ever), I just want you to give a simple yes or no. If yes, feel free to bang the same drum you’ve been banging virtually since the season kicked off. If no, sing another song for pities sake.
