Sadly not.. never been to Bristol for the football.

Toyed with the idea of going down to a game there (City) but my other half wasn’t keen..  by the time she had come round to the idea it was too late to go.

That was the day we won 5-2 with Sharp and JET scoring two each..

Still a sore point in our house.!

No trip for us this weekend. As relaxed as the Mrs is about going to the football, apparently, I should get on and finish the utility room. I swear her priorities are wrong!

Taken my ticket back. Can’t shrug off this Man Flu or whatever it is.
12 days now. Sunderland game started it off.
Never had anything so draining for so long.

If it was a bit more local then may have risked it. 4 hrs each way on a coach isn’t very appealing when you feel rough.

Anyway missed last 2 away matches at Bristol Rovers and we won them both convincingly.
Hat trick tomorrow. It will be nailed on if i am not there.

Stayed overnight in Bristol before travelling to Cardiff for our Johnstone's Paint victory.
Magnificent weekend. Good place to visit as well.

Will be out in Yate tomorrow night at the local for a meal with the other half's - Called the Brimsham - bit of a chain pub but nice real ale. I remember a group of Brizzle Rovers fans saying I was haunting them after we were in there for a meal after Cardiff JPT! Of course I had my Rovers shirt on ....

Beats my food stop on the way home that day, at the services on the M5.!

Although I did run into John Ryan in the toilets there, purely by chance..  not a great time to shake the man’s hand, however..

On behalf of the Rovers forum we are all glad you said “hand”. 😂

So am I..!

Although I am surprised he was on his way so soon after the match..  this was probably only 2-2.5 hours after the final whistle..

Am currently on the train running 1/2 hour late towards Birmingham.
What is my best station parkway or temple meads. And what’s the best plan from there? Filton?

Parkway is to the north of Bristol so i reckon would be the nearest to the Memorial ground.

Just looked on the map and probably equidistant from both stations.
Parkway is suggested on BR website. 2 miles from ground.
Filton Abbey Wood is nearest but not a main line station and is 30 mins walk from the ground.

I wish I was wrong but my gut says we're going to loose this one. They've got jch and new signings so will be on somewhat of a bounce and due a win. I just hope we are rigid and play on the break like we did against Peterborough. If we do that they we are def in with a shout

Pointless getting the train to Filton Abbey Wood - you can walk that from Parkway. It is probably 30 mins walk from Abbey Wood - Parkway is only 10-15 mins further.

Temple Meads is probably best for a bus connection - although they will take longer through the city centre. There are just less buses that stop at Parkway.

Anything going down Gloucester Road you want.

It's about the same distance- 3 miles. I'd suggest jumping into a cab at Parkway.

My Bristol Rovers supporting friend tells me they have been rubbish since having to appoint a new manager and says they haven’t beaten us at home since 1987. Hope that run continues!
