That's a tough one. Everyone put in a shift. I thought Halliday played well, but no-one stood out head and shoulder. I think he probably deserves it though.

Any of the back 4 could have got it aswell as either winger or Gomes his best game for us id say covered up for Whiteman who was not up to his standards especially in the first half

I never realised Gomes was playing until about the 35th minute.

Wright for me today, solid game and was nice to see a hard/fair tackle too!

Looks like it’s only me who went for Cole - to be fair could have been Cole, Sadlier, Ennis or Halliday

Cole's best match by some way. I'd been underwhelmed by him to date but today there was the sign of what he might be.

I thought Gomes did a solid job. He's not as secure as Sheaf but he's much more effective going forward. I'd need to see the highlights to confirm it but I think his drive into the box set up the 1st goal.

I don’t think Sadlier was anywhere near MOTM.

I've gone for Ennis as I felt his movement, drive and determination kept the team moving. Sadlier played well and I think we are starting to see Cole get up to match fitness and he's looking a useful addition to the front line. That run he made in the 93rd minute was exceptional, he left their defence standing. I thought it was a penalty at the time and not seen a replay of it yet. That's the best I have seen Gomes play and I loved his two second half nutmegs on their midfielder, two subline touches to get by his man. That 2nd half performances was great and it would be nice to see it more consistently.

Ennis for me, he hounded their defence all game, strong, determined, and thoroughly deserved his goal.

Having checked, it was Gomes who played in Ennis. Nice bit of work. There's a really good player there if we can knock some of the rough edges off him.

Great assist, and apparently he was unwell too. Which is why Darren had to take him off despite how well he was playing.

It certainly was Gomes but credit must go to Cole aswell, it was him who battled to get the ball off their fullback in the first place.

There were several good battles in the build up. Cole, as you say. Whiteman twice won 50/50s, albeit the second one after his own poor touch. Gomes also was brave when the ball came to him wide left. Their number 4 lunged in with studs up, but Gomes calmly beat him to the ball and dinked it away from the challenge. Very good goal all round.
