Dig out your DRFC flag
« on September 08, 2020, 12:16:28 pm by silent majority »
The club will be accepting DRFC flags to be displayed in the East Stand for this Saturdays game. There'll be an article appearing on DROS sometime today with the details, but just make sure you have a fire certificate that covers your flag.

The reason I'm giving you a heads up is that they need the flag by close of play tomorrow. So start looking!

I'm thinking that condition has just killed this initiative dead. 🤔

The manufacturers of your flag will/should provide that.

Out of interest, are the seats that the flags will go on covered in flame resistant lacquer, or would they go up like most plastics if a blaze occurred?

I have looked at both of my Rovers flags, neither even have a manufacturers name on them never mind any fire certificate details.
I wonder whether the club would accept them?

I should have given more details, apologies.

Under the club rules flags over a certain size need to be flame retardant. These days when you buy from the main flag manufacturers they tend to do that automatically. All the big surfer flags for instance have the certificate woven into the fabric.

So if your flag is on the small size you should be OK, but anything above 4' x 6' I would suggest would need some proof.

They are both small ones.
Thanks for the clarification. 👍

You can actually self certify your flag. If you have applied a fire retardant solution yourself. Keep the receipts! There are plenty available in aerosol/spray form.

Not a dig, but why did they only decide to give about a day's notice for this?
