I’m still not sure what JJ did to get past the two defenders before firing that shot home.

It was obvious what he was going to do, and time stood still for what felt like 5 minutes before he did it, and the defenders must have known - but they couldn't stop him...Quality

He was waiting for Taylor to overlap, but Taylor never moved so he nutmegged the defender and sent a rocket past the keeper

Absolute beauty, defender had no idea, the keeper, no chance.

tbf the Keeper had no chance for most of the game !

Was sure we were going to catch him in 6 yard box for an easy goal as well

Just watched the highlights on Charlton’s fans’ website and they admit we were by far the best side

I wish we could have a second camera angle at games!!!!!

I for one, was disappointed at not being able to see a better angle on that 3rd goal. I have replayed it many times and the Charlton defender gets in the way but from the reaction of the defender he beat it was a nutmeg and a fantastic strike.

A poetic result for that game abandoned at 3-1 in the rain.

I was concerned early in the first half because Charlton were the better team but yet again we scored against the run of play, Charlton lost the plot and we deservedly walk away with the points.

I am really looking forward to this season and I am very optimistic for success.

This Darren feller knows his football.

I’m only going on the very brief highlights, but we were definitely clinical with the goals and even the o.g. had Lokilo waiting at the back stick to tap in, if the defender hadn’t intervened.

Another week’s solid work on the training ground next week should see us progress a little bit more. So far, so good.

1st 20 mins very even Alan. Charlton did have 2 very good chances.
1 header i don’t know how he missed.

Once Gomes scored we looked in control. 2nd half we were in total control apart from last 10/15 mins after they scored, but i never felt we would not win the game.

We had more attempts at goal, more shots on target, more possession, more completed passes, more tackles won, more interceptions, more headers won. Basically more of everything.
Think that sums it up really.
Oh & the most important statistic and the only one that counts towards getting the points is we scored 3 they scored 1

Now we need to produce that performance consistently.

Sorry I lied. Think Charlton had 2 more corners than us. Will need to check that.

It was 3 more.

Look at Lokilo’s reaction to JJs goal, he can’t believe what’s just happened.

I'd say we were the better team for most of the opening hour, I didn't feel Gomes' goal came against the run of play. We were on the ball a lot more from the off and playing proactively. It was only after Charlton scored that they got on top and our defence stood up to the task well.

First 15 to 20 mins Charlton were on top without a doubt, after that we grew into it until they scored and then Charlton reimposed themselves, saying that we had chances to increase our lead, Lokilo failing to play Copps in was one, and then a bit later Copps pulling his shot wide

I think both Copps and Lokilo will learn from those glaring mistakes. Lokilo is one who is going to be a great player. He has a lot of heart, energy but just needs to up his skills - maybe a confidence/experience thing? Being with the 3 outfield loanees will push him lots. Hopefully that Copps will get better too ;) I've a sneaky feeling that if we're still in League 1 he might squeeze another season out of his boots.
