Posh now in Quarantine

Strange that it coincides with a very poor run of form!

Just saying!

Shouldn’t, quarantine is 10 days now

Fergie loves mid season breaks, and is bloody useless after them.

It does give them an advantage, as their fit players get a rest prior to playing us (by then, most of ours will probably be exhausted/injured).

No unless anymore of their playing staff catch it at moment one unnamed player as tested positive and three more are showing symptoms. So their Games against Ipswich, Gillingham and Charlton have benn postponed. Realistically with a 10 day quarantine then the game on the 29th December should  be able to play as one positive and three displaying symptoms today the 18th. It just means that all players are  in quarantine can’t train until the 29th. So that’s why that game is postponed.

Our game on the 2nd is still scheduled to play.

10 days without training for them, might hurt them

The squad and staff should be out of quarantine on the 28th and have at least 4 days training before they play us.

Posh are in 3rd place and must be on a good run to be there.

Reverse the process a second, Alan. If it was Rovers that were in lockdown would you say that is a good thing for us? We would lose momentum, miss out on training and planning and have extra games to catch up. And there is no guarantee that in 10 days time they will get the all clear.

Rather them than us.

Am I a rotten person when I say that knowing 2 of our close competitors are in lockdown makes me smile? Maybe I am, but I will still smile. Any edge we can get is good by me.

We may get our games in hand back by default, which is probs a good thing.

Will put Posh in a more realistic position.

The other thing about the game on 2nd January is Lumley won’t be able to play as emergency loans are not allowed within a transfer window. Therefore he’s got 4 more games with us. So let’s hope we can sort a loan out with QPR or Jones will play in that game with U18 keeper as back up until we loan another keeper.

Our Youth Cup game next week against Peterborough has been postponed due the Covid outbreak with in the first team squad. So they must train in the same facilities I believe our U18s train at the ground not Cantley park.

Lumley must know he will feature in every game to the end of the season if he stays with Rovers. Anywhere else might be a gamble. So I expect we will sign him to the end of the season.

They've picked up 7 points from the last 7 games. Relegation form.

Sorry mate, I just can't resist the pedantry.

It's "affect", not "effect".

Just sign him on a months loan then back to a week to week contract until the end of the season as i think Darren will want Jones to being number 1 next season

There are no one month loans anymore.

If we're keeping him, it'll be on a loan until the summer.

Not in good form at the moment.!

As for the keeper situation, I would be more than happy for Jones to start that match, although that would then rule out any further emergency loans this season.  But we would have the window to bring in another keeper anyway.

You “pedant” away mate.
I know it should be affect so I will blame predictive text for that one.
I must read before I post in future.

I notice that you didn’t correct Steve in post #11 on this thread though.

Edit.. Steve has edited his post now mate so...... too late.

Any new keeper coming in will be loan till summer that’s what DM said.

Sunderland have cancelled their next three games due to covid so Shrewsbury game today is cancelled, we of course play Shrewsbury on Tuesday.

Shrewsbury are in form atm so it should be a good game.
