Would be a massive statement of intent if we get Josh back permanently, quality player & would be a fantastic addition!  :clapping:

Just to be clear Lincs, we are talking about getting him back on loan until the end of the season.

One step at a time.

Agreed. Would be a big boost to the squad as a whole I'd say to even just get him on loan. Need to be in the next league up to consider anything else but clearly a big pat on the back for club, manager and player if it can be arranged.

If Sims comes back, and the 2 players we hope to get in next week are of the quality suggested, I think we could achieve automatic promotion, let alone the play-offs.

Wait a minute. Aren't we forgetting something? We won't go anywhere by selling our best player, that Bill Whitman or whatever his name was!

Sims 18k a week and the fact championship teams will be all over him on a free in the summer. Loan until then is the best we can hope for

Agreed entirely. Even if we get up there is no way we would even consider matching his wages

Why would we need to match it? He'd be going down at least one division so he knows he'd be on less. It might be a Tommy Rowe situation where he wants to play for the manager or club over money.

Are you really suggesting Tommy Rowe is on the same wages as he was with us?

I think he’s suggesting Tommy Rowe took a pay cut when he signed for us from Wolves.

I agree with Donny he was happy and loved it here , he might go somewhere else and not be happy and he knows and gets on with the lads, so yes he could take a cut for that happens

He liked his time here and knows that he could come back, fit in and get game time. A possible promotion on his CV and be in the shop window every game.
He knows that when the season ends he will be in demand and can take his time to choose the right team.
That scenario could be far better than rushing in and not being happy, even if on a bigger wage.

There's cuts and then taking a cut that puts you on 20-30% if what you were on.

I reckon he'll not get that anywhere but still get double or triple what we can offer.

18,000 x 4 = 72,000 per month
72,000 x 24 = 1,724,000 over a 2 year contract
got to pay tax on that but maybe with that wedge behind him money is not his main priority.
