Black Bank support local charities
« on February 08, 2021, 03:24:55 pm by RoverBB »
Hi All

We, here at the Black Bank, are looking at ways to make a positive difference not only in the stadium, but also in the community.

With this in mind we are looking into doing some charitable work for the Trussell Trust - who run Doncaster Food bank as well as the DBTH Charity - The Doncaster and Bassetlaw Hospital’s Charity. More details on this work will be announced in due course.

We would like to ask members their opinion on which other charities you would like to see us support in the future?

Cheers
Black Bank

Mental health charities would be great.

As the black bank is predominantly young men, and mental health is a huge issue amongst that demographic.

Love to see the black bank become a wider support network for struggling donny lads and lasses.

This is great to read... I've a list of local charities that the fanzine has supported somewhere. Will dig them out for you when I get a moment.

We're in a frustrating position with the 'zine where we've got around £1,500 (possibly more) that we want to give away, but due to a load of Covid-related banking issues it's stuck in an account we can't currently access – so great to see another fans group looking to do it.

Thanks Glen. We would appreciate that immensely. I’ll drop you a DM on Twitter if that’s okay?

Can I just point out that we are still collecting food for the foodbank in Doncaster run by the Trussel Trust?

Under the national banner of 'Fans Supporting Foodbanks', and the local banner of DRFCFANS4FOODBANKS we still collect funds and, on occasions, food that has been donated. Of course our match day collections have ceased for the time being but we hope to be back up and running as soon as we can.

If somebody from the BB, or anywhere else, would like to support us on a match day it would be appreciated.

You would make a fortune if your first track was to make James Bell disappear vicar.

RoverBB., use the messaging in here to contact Jimmydee.   I've just given him a load of stuff for the food bank today.

Really great that the black bank is starting to branch out.

Could really be a fantastic movement of rovers fans, and doncastrians in general.
Well done
