Once again the corruption of money underlies the lack of grace and sportsmanship in football. it won';t change though - until the revenues start to dry up.

I don't think the money drying up will stop it Bob,It will only stop, improve if an outside body/gov't get involved,I've  said it before, the ultimate problem is the footballing ruling bodies are like monopolies, they have all the power and do not have to answer to anyone, they are not accountable enough to anyone,if players, managers, staff, ref's do anything they don't like, including critising them, they use the "bringing the game into disrepute charge" which virtually covers anything THEY want to make it possible to punish them if THEY feel so.It's what the horrible, greedy, power monger Sepp Blatter was all about,it took the Americans,a country not traditionally big on "Soccer" to get involved to stop him and bring him to justice.Monopolies are basically dictators of the business/money world.Accountability or/and competition is whats needed.

You might well have a point there Drover.

My thinking was if revenues start to falter then there will be panic, flailing about and changes designed to 'enhance the apeal of the product'. But yes. They would quite likely be cursory and fairly meaningless since those in power would fight to retain everything they always had.  so the involvement of a governing body is a damn good thought - even if it's bloody unlikely to happen. Oh for the days of Alan Hardaker and Ted Croker.....

Cheers
