It could be a retreat. They do a lot of meditating and they have these retreats to get away from it all.My inlaw is the kind of Buddhist who meditates for about 2 mins and then says, that's enough of that, I've got some cleaning to do!
It's a Tibetan temple and retreat. It is a different branch. Just looking at their website, it seems they have a top man who is highly respected, that'll be the draw. And let's face it, if you are American and want to get away from it all, Doncaster probably seems like the end of the earth!
Buddhists don't believe in god?I only bring it up because I didn't and my mother in law is a Buddhist. They keep confusing people because when asked they often say they do believe in god because it's easier than having to explain what their spirituality is. But really they are agnostics. The Buddhists figured out there weren't any gods hundreds of years before Christ was born. Pretty amazing. And they invented abstract painting and minimalist architecture thousands of years before The Bauhaus or JMW Turner.Fascinating stuff, eh?
buddhists in Burma must have missed a few classes RD
