For what’s been said about 100 times on this forum over the years, rugby league does as much if not less damage to a pitch than football

WRONG rugby league does not rough up a football pitch as there is no concentration of play in any particular part of the area.  It is based on speed and ball handling, and the scrum has no pushing in it what so ever and takes seconds to complete FACT

Whilst playing Rugby League itself might not do much damage compared to say, Union, having someone else play on it other than the Rovers will invariably worsen the condition for us.

However given we seem to have forgotten how to play football anyway, I’m not sure the state of the pitch really matters ;)

People blamed the Rugby for the state of the pitch the last time it went shit, but in actually it was having to whole area covered with staging for the concretes.  But, in actual fact NO Dons on the pitch then NO Rovers as it’s in the build contract

Remember when the Sheffield Eagles won the Challenge Cup vs Wigan on 02/05/98. It was the same day we were playing Colchester at Belle Vue
