I know plenty of people on here don’t buy in to the data side of football so you may as well turn off now but it may be of interest to other people.

According to the performance models I use, which I can assure you are accurate, only Swindon have performed worse than us over the last 8 games. We have had the just about the easiest run of fixtures of any team in the division as well.

Being generous to us it’s close between Shrews, Plymouth and us in the little pack above Swindon but it’s still been a horrific run.

Even if you look at the last four games we are in the same position.

The shots against table backs that up.

But really, I don't think we need to study the data too much, just watching them has been enough.

Why as our form changed. Whiteman leaving, Sims injury and not recapturing his form, Taylor’s injury. Players brought in January not shown any good form at all. Then the awkward things DM leaving, players contracts not decided which won’t help. Not picking the right players in the position to keep up the momentum. On our day with the right players we can try and compete but consistently with squad we have we can’t. Big job in the summer who ever is manager to put a squad together that can compete for top six place.

It would be interesting to know where the data placed us up to say the end of January- I think there has been a bit of a split between those who thought we were great and those who thought we were not as good as our position suggested.

We were over achieving, although you would have expected us to slip back to being the 7th/8th/9th best team not 16th as I have us overall based on the entire season.

According to the Efl paper after this weekends fixtures over the last six fixtures we are 15th  in the division won 2 drawn1 lost3 7goals for 9against and the only sjots that count are them that end up in the onion bag, hence clubs winning matches with one shot on target, and games have been won with no shots on target and an own goal.

If and when we do start selling season tickets, if we could get a few extra on top of what we usually get purchased and also match days that could make all the difference in what we can attract salary wise.

The one thing I've noticed is we can win 5 games in a row and then get big crowd for the 6th and we get beat 1-0. Most of the fans that came to the 6th probably don't come to the next home game.

We have been doing that for the 46 years I have been watching Rovers.
We almost always never fail.  :headbang:

Dead right, mate. As I've mentioned in the AB thread, people are waiting to see who the next manager will be, and who it is will probably have a major impact on how many season tickets we sell.

You have us 16th when its mathematically impossible to finish below 14th. Go on...

I don’t understand what you are saying, are you saying because we are 12th we are definitely the 12th best team in the division?

Over 46 games were you end up is a pretty good pointer to where you are in the pecking order imo.

If we finish 12th then we are the 12th best team in the league in my book not the 16th

We should have been probably 4th or 5th best team in this league but the season unfortunately does not end after 24 games.

You said that about Blackpool when they were 16th and I told you they were in the 6 best sides. I can guarantee you we haven’t been the 12th best side over the season. We are amongst the pack below the top 12.

If we beat Blackpool and Posh we will finish 9th in all probability. So let’s see where we finish.
