The fact is Peterborough have got over the line after 45 games .

The pen to do it is massively debatable but it doesn't alter the fact they've got the required points over the season .

The owners McAnthoney is a complete bell end but I have no dog in the fight with Fergie junior .

Peterborough aren't afraid to sell their best players and back themselves to reinvest and progress .

It's a likeable model despite the respective incumbents at the helm in the boardroom and the technical area .

However you have to respect the strategy because finally it's paid off for them .
No one is probably saying they do not deserve to be 2nd after 45 games Tyke. So if they are there on merit why have they not backed themselves to be there after 46 games without cheating in the 45th to avoid possibly having to get a point in the 46th to go up.

That 46th game just happens to be against us who they have not beaten under DF in 10 games.

So cheating is acceptable if you have had a great season?
Is that what your saying Tyke? Surely not.
Sorry it is never acceptable imo.
That was blatant cheating to the highest degree.

It’s not cheating for me,
He didn’t dive he lost control and barged into their player the free kick should’ve gone to Lincoln.
It’s the worst decision I’ve ever seen, the ref needs investigating

Terrible decision, however as someone else mentioned Lincoln have made diving in the penalty area their trademark this season.

Seriously he lost control? Do not think many people would agree with that.
As blatant an attempt at cheating as you will ever likely to see is how i saw it.

Agree with the rest of your post though.

What I find acceptable is neither here nor here Campsall .

The facts are pretty clear to me , play with the Corinthian spirit and good luck with that .

If you want to be successful then you have to wise up or play with a distinctive disadvantage .

The game today is what it is , it's not of my choosing but I'll be fecked if Dike stays on his feet in the box in the play offs with £100m on the line .

Your having a laugh .

Let's put it another way , one of your lads goes down and it's debatable and you gain championship football .

Ain't nobody on here going to criticise him .

That's a solid fact .

It's Fergie junior , that's what really  fuelling this thing .

Let's be honest .

There aren't that many more blatant cheats than John Marquis.

He’s definitely lost control, the turn he’s trying to do meant he dragged the ball with his left foot but he’s missed the ball altogether and barged into the defender.

He did lay there with his arms outstretched appealing for a pen though.

We would have been running round the KM if that meant we went up. Cheating yes when it's some other team but not when it's your own

Nothing to do with Fergie Tyke.

Seriously I think Peterborough deserve to go up. Cannot argue over 45 games they have been one of the 2 best teams in the league.
Yesterday they cheated in the 96th min to win a penalty that prevented any chance of Lincoln pipping them for a top 2 slot.
We will never know now whether over 46 games they were the 2nd best team.
If they lose to us next Sun and Lincoln win their final 2 games then they would not have been one of the 2 best teams in League 1 this season without that ridiculous dive yesterday which some how, inexplicably the ref fell for

Sorry it leaves a bad taste and i would not be happy winning promotion in that way.

As for Marquis there is pushing the boundaries and there is cheating. Blatant cheating.
Marquis did the former which most good strikers do.

As much as I dislike Peterborough it seems poetic justice after the number of dodgy penalties that Lincoln have benefitted from this season.

Well there is that Idler.
I suppose over a full season maybe justice has been done.   ;)

I’m sure that most of our fans were more annoyed at Lewis Guy diving all over the place were more annoyed at his cheating than hoping for a penalty.

But every team in the division will probably get 3/4 pens a season where players have maybe gone down too easily.
Lincoln got one against us,
It evens itself out

But the ref shouldn’t be giving a penalty there, that’s the big worry about this incident

I hated Lewis Guy's diving. It was an embarrassment to watch.

The problem is a penalty will hardly ever be given for a foul in the area unless a player goes down.  I firmly believe the refs are partly to blame. Referees disregard fouls inside the area that they would call outside of it. That's why players exaggerate more in the area in order to get a penalty. As a result of that, what has developed now is players have become experts at diving even when there has been no contact!

It was a terrible decision by the referee and it sums up the level of refereeing in the lower divisions. On another day and with a different referee, the Peterborough lad probably gets a yellow, for ‘simulation’.

On the MacAnthony interview, as much as I dislike the guy, I do like his passion for his Club and you certainly can’t argue that he’s backed his manager. I think a few of us have missed a bit of that passion from the Board (John Ryan’esque). Good luck to them next season (they’ll need it).

Cannot knock his passion. But that is about the only compliment i would give him based on some of the rhetoric he churns out.
