SafeWhy on earth would Hasselbaink leave a club where he has got an obvious connection for us, a team at the same level with similar resources?

Stendel2. Hasslebank 3. WellensI'm pretty sure that Liam Hoden has already ruled out Stendel and Hasslebank. Liam Hoden isn't running the recruitment process.Do you think he’s ruling them out based on a hunch?

SafeSafe? If you knew Wellens then you'd realise he's anything but.But just because he may not be considered the safe option, doesn’t mean he wouldn’t be the right one. Personally I would view Wellens as a bold, ambitious and forward thinking choice. This is totally correct. Wellens would excite the fan base.Do the board have the bottle to hire him? Hope so.[/quoteWon'tbe a case of having the bottle but assessing his strengths and weaknesses under pressure. How has he adapted as a manager in dealing with players who don't always perform at the standards he expects. Is he a ruthless winner or is he a more rounded individual that can get the best out of players using different approaches? We know he had the winning mentality as a player and if he can carry that forward and instill that into the players without having a ruck every week then he could be the man for us.

The names I would have like have been disregarded and I really dont fancy Wellens getting it. I like the fact that I know he has high standards and wont stand for any less but, his failing at Salford is what really puts me off. His budget must have been massive for League 2 and Im sure with their owners they had a lot of pulling power for players and he assembled a squad who lost him his job. So hes a no from me.

He was hired in November, signed the grand total of 3 loanees in January and got sacked for refusing to play direct football after only four months in the job.It wasn't his squad and I don't see how he failed at anything, he didn't get the time to succeed or fail and they've missed out on the Play-Offs today, proving it was short-sighted to get rid of him.

Of course they are. Hoden will be fed bits of information from those within the process, as will SM on here. To suppose otherwise would be daft.
Those who have spelling difficulties could just call him JFH.

Really not sure on wellens, i reckon he’s got it in him to do one at the first sight of a better job if we were doing well. Having said that though, I can’t see who else gets it out of names mentioned (if the bookies are accurate)
Something else that those bringing up Wellens' alleged past fall-outs with board members, Butler or whoever are missing, is that if the club is willing to consider hiring him as manager now...then they are no doubt well past any issues that occurred some 4-5 years ago or more.In the pursuit of success, people butt heads. Wellens was part of a good amount of success here and elsewhere in his career, and has as solid a CV as any 41-year-old manager with only a few years experience could have. He has achieved success and experienced failure as well as working at three clubs with very different set-ups and outlooks. It looks a good fit.
