Apparently they're not in financial trouble and are just doing this because they can. It is probably a sensible decision for them given their relegation.

Did Sadlier get injured or just fall out with the manager? He completed 90mins just once all season in the league. Looks odd to sign a player and then almost literally never trust him for a full game? Weird situation.

I think they still have something like 29 players under contract so it will save them a fair wedge over the summer.
