However I tried to buy a shirt and apparently it’s not able to be used on that, there is an asterisk denoting that it can’t be used on sale items, but £45 is not a sale price

Cheers I got the code when I went home, however I've had the same problem as Roversdude.
If the club shop was open I'd be able to get there, but it's a struggle to get to the frenchgate shop before closing time.
