Richie positive on duo
« on July 06, 2021, 07:04:52 pm by Branton Rover »
RW has stated publicly something I’ve been saying for ages re Bogle - along the lines of he’s a really good lad & after witnessing games from last season he said any striker would’ve struggled to make an impact considering the ponderous style of play & he reckons Bogle will benefit from a faster tempo in play - in addition to positive words on Bogle he said similar stuff about Bostock - him being a good footballer and a really nice bloke - sounds to me like Bostock is going nowhere.

Ps if RW can get these two to punch their weight especially Bogle we could see his form transformed with a full pre-season

I’m expecting Williams, Butler, John and even Okenhibirie are likely to be the possible 2 to leave.

Why Okenabirhie? The reason he isn't getting spoken about in the press is because he's injured.

I might be reading too much into it RA but Ritchies comments came across as that he wasn’t overly impressed that the injury has only come to light given the opportunities he’s had to let the medical team know

In that case, you may as well add Taylor to the list.

Why? A bit different Taylor didn’t hide his problem

RW is a manager but what he isn’t is God not a miracle worker with Bogle, I won’t hold my breath

He’s got flat feet! Not really injured and can possibly be sorted by boot inserts.

He still didn’t disclose it Alan and I got the impression RW wasn’t overly impressed by that but has I said to RA I might be reading too much into it.

I saw enough from Bogle in his first 2-3 games with us to see that there's a very able player in there. If Wellens can tap that, what a bonus it will be.

He is injured, his flat feet has caused injuries as stated by Richie Wellens, and has missed training as a result.

DVR, I've re-read all Wellens has said and I don't think there is any negative tone to it. I may be wrong, but I don't think there's more to it than the fact he has been injured and so can't impress (or otherwise) in training like Bogle apparently has.

Surely the medical people have a foot pump?

The thing is Taylor has been out for some considerable time and you would have thought things like his minor op would have been done by now!

Similarly, how long has all the back room staff had to find and sort Fej’s problem? It’s not just Fej.

Whatever, I can’t see the manager wanting to go down to just 1 striker before the season starts! We’ve got enough holes to fill without having to create another!

Get the supply to Bogle and he could return to his Grimsby form, here's hoping

I'm not going to criticise the guy but the stats for Bogle are worth considering.

He has scored a total of 114 league goals in his career. 78 of these have been in non-league (and the majority of these, 65 at Conference North level). So around 70 per cent of all his league goals ever scored have been in non league and nearly 60 per cent of all his league goals ever scored have been in the semi pro game.

It gets even tougher though. He has only ever scored 17 league goals at League One level or above. That's 17 in 97 games at League One level or above, 1 in 5.7. That unscientific average would deliver 8 league goals if he played a 46 game season. Not so bad.

However, the most games he has managed in the same season for the same club outside of non league is 27, back in the 2016/17 season.

He's got a very tough job on to show that he can stick out a full season, let alone score goals at League One level throughout that season.

I hope the guy succeeds for him and us, but these stats must be worrying Richie.
