Several Trialists
« on August 19, 2021, 02:18:21 pm by steve@dcfd »
Are still training at the club as it’s beneficial for them in fitness and beneficial for us to ensure we have enough players for training sessions. This is being reported by Liam. They know we can’t offer them anything in terms of a contract but it’s helping them out.

Not having enough players for a training session is absolute criminal IMO... I think this is a cry for help more than anything

Not enough for 11v11 that is because we have sent 3 out players on loan and have injuries.

Do not make it sound as though this is a criminal offence.

The actual quote from Wellens is 'quite low' rather than 'we haven't got enough'.

I mean, it still is. We can't fill a bench with first teamers at the moment. There's only one other club who haven't been able to do that in the League 1 so far this season and its Shrewsbury. How are they doing?

We have 18 players plus Hasani and Ravenhill dependent on which days that train with their loan clubs. Smith and Seaman will not be there because of covid. But it wasn’t the slight shortage I was mentioning for but it’s interesting that the Trialist are still here and are doing to get fit which is also helping us out.

We’ve also had to borrow some of the U18s aswell.
It’s easy to work out  we have 18 players available for Saturday if Greaves can play and we don’t have any injuries. Does truth hurt people?

Campsall, the players we have loaned out train with us during the week so will be part of the numbers Wellens has at Cantley Park.

Right fair enough. We have players injured and self isolating though. If they were all available there would not be a numbers problem.

Yes Campsall next week we will have Smith and Seaman with the 18 plus Hasani and Ravenhill unless they are training with their loan club. By the end of September hopefully we will have one or two of the injured  three to join in as well. Plus loans but players will have to go out for them to come in so it will be status quo. It’s all very easy to work out.

Do not make it sound as though this is a criminal offence.

Those 3 sent out on loan are still training with the Rovers on a daily basis and then train with their loan team on their training day. So not much a criminal offence as some on here seem to think. You’ll have to come up with a new offence to accuse the Rovers of now

Completely agree, there's 5-6 missing at the moment which would decimate any team in this league.

But he’ll be playing for Darlington tomorrow if he’s gone. I’ve just checked their game is postponed because of Covid again so he could be available for the bench.
