Sadly for him he's like most of us and hasn't got a pot to piss in.

He's not got the money though and lost the plot by the end of his tenure here. Did great things but left at the right time really.

JR isn't the answer. I don't know what it is, mind.

I’m not saying for now obviously. But someone who can take the club forward like he did rather than backwards would be nice!

It certainly isn't David Blunt.

Ah, so 'The Experiment' was a great success and didn't take us backwards! That's a relief to find out after all these years!

JR was willing to take a gamble. Some worked and some didn’t. But he’s forgotten more about running a club than we’ll ever know.

You must find walking very difficult as you are always looking backwards.

We were going backwards anyway. The experiment was a desperate attempt to stop it.

They have proven time and time again that they will not veer away from it’s  approach to a self sustaining and financially secure club. I’m no fan but I suppose it’s time to except that it’s not a never ending flow of cash , but a reducing amount year on year until a balance is attained. It does make me wonder if the board  think that their £30m + input over a very long period has represented good value and is achieving its goals for the future !

It's really refreshing to see someone admit that we were going backwards under JR. There's plenty wearing rose tinted spectacles who aren't prepared to do that.

It was never a secret that we were going backwards under JR. It wasn't necessarily because of him though. He knew the club was going backwards. That's why he wanted others to invest more money into the club because he couldn't afford to fund it all by himself.

Under John Ryan the rovers were successful, nobody can doubt that....He did more for Doncaster in the time he was our chairman than anyone has ever done for this town......

I've never seen anyone doubt or deny it. The problem is those who wear rose-tinted spectacles and deny his failures.

The problem was we were going backwards and spending a record amount of money at the same time. Seeing as TB and DW were doing all the financing and not actively running the club was the major obstacle that they didn't resolve.

Why did TB and DW allow that situation to happen?

So John Ryan contributed nothing financially to get us up in the Championship?

Maybe you should read SM's post again? The question asked was about the season we got promoted. Not whilst we was in the championship.
