I watch little TV news nowadays. It’s not news anymore, thanks to social media, it’s just a repeat of what we already know.

Totally agree. I watch GB news now and then and have talkradio on a bit but even that is now grating on me and grinding me down a bit so i might take your advice and swerve all news.

Interestingly i did read an article about this, can't remember if it was on spiked or conservative woman and it was basically saying that anyone who had ignored the news since Covid would be in a much better state and less stressed than everyone else.

So in effect, carry on living your life as though it was the 70's and everything is ok.

I remember when the news was factual and accurate and reported facts

The news now is biased and opinionated, pro woke, selective, deliberately directed at in vogue subjects that suit agendas

Newspapers are the same. They are full of tripe and dollop with stories about supposed celebrities who are non celebrities and their opinions and how their love lives are sxxt and it’s giving them mental health issues

I’m fed up of sad sad stories of celebrities taking time off for personal reasons or because they’re broken hearted because they’ve had a relationship break up or their bins weren’t

Who cares. They should be grateful they’ve got the money to take time off unlike the average working man and woman who has to muddle on through to pay the bills

Most of the new TV is crap. It’s either totally unrealistic or total so inclusive there’s no story or it’s more important than the story

More than ever we are required to apply critical analysis to what we are presented with. Some are more adept than others at this.

My Mum is constantly worried about severe bad weather and snow because her phone keeps alerting her to exaggerated reports from the Mirror and Express that a deep freeze is just around the corner.

I know it's frustrating for some.

Certain sections of the media will play up an issue because they know it sells. The prospect of bad weather frightens many older people, so they promote stories about it.

It might be royalty that sells, it might be celebrities 'caught' wearing few clothes. It might be Rupert Murdochs fury at the BBC eating his lunch and the campaign he wages against it.
