Asked if she backed tighter restrictions her answer was she wanted the government to do what is necessary to protect families at Christmas.  That didn't answer the question.  Quite the right strategy but at some point they have to show they can make decisions quickly.  They want to show they'd be government they need to say what they would do at that time or the hindsight thing does get through.

Very true because the vast majority of the country aren't interested in politics or at best their attention span is small .

So having somebody with charisma is important .

You could tell almost straight away when the Tories elected Cameron as leader that Gordon Brown was up against it .

Blair was able to cut through class division in a way Kinnock could not .

You could argue Thatcher cut through class division too .

Starmer is a bit of a one off in my opinion , working class background but comes across as every bit the establishment figure .

He certainly did say some daft things. Like declaring - in writing - that his businesses were worth bugger all so as to pay sod-all tax on them whllst at the same time saying - in writing - they were worth billions in order to get banks to loan him money against them.
