Frustrating
« on January 14, 2022, 04:58:30 pm by Spilsby Red »
I know people can have an opinion before I get slated.
The manager, given the job on merit. Let’s give him and his team the chance. People are so quick to have a go without any knowledge.
The board, have sustained us as a club, not what I have read, a lot of supporters want. Well I am more than happy with the board and that we have a club(over 47 years of supporting). 1998 we nearly didn’t have a club. Look a Bury, Macclesfield, Derby etc. Some people need to think and look what has and is happening to other clubs who overspend.
I know and a lot know it’s not a great season. If we get relegated then we do but I will support the club as I always have done.
We will get signings, when it happens it will happen. Some clubs have done more, so what. No point just getting players in for the sake of it.
The idiots that continue to go on about Netto. My god. Grow up. Support the team. Confidence is massive. Cheering the team will encourage confidence. Jeering doesn’t. I have never booed the team, yes been frustrated at times. I will continue to applaud the team at the start of the match, whilst the match is on, and at the end. Never left early. Never will.
My club, part of my life. Proud to say I support my club and wear the colours where ever I go

What brought on this National Anthem exactly now? Was it losing a goalkeeper to a relegation rival? Cue time to present badge of honour and trot the old lines, we don't know how lucky we are... board can do no wrong, it could be alot worse etc. No one is saying  it couldn't but it could also be alot better! And most passionate fans showing dissatisfaction with our current predicament also know we have had bad times in 1998, in 1988 for that matter, probably wasn't much better in 78 but that was just before my time.. we are all glad to have a club, a good ground, some wins and some goals and pride in the shirt wouldn't be too much to ask and wish for surely!

100% behind you Spilsby

Too many doom and Gloomers on here. Wouldn’t be happy if we’d won every game and was 15 points clear

We didn’t lose a keeper to a relegation rival. GM told you exactly how things might pan out. The fact he's gone to Gillingham is coincidental.

Read the other thread. This is nothing to do with the board, simply GM exercising his options.

Let's see how things pan out as you say. I am not saying in this exact scenario, but alot on here read and listen exactly what comes out in the media or from the club as being gospel, we are hardly going to say we can't afford this, or better to say we have a strategy to use the money on another outfield player.. there were recent seasons gone by when we used to insist upon and pride ourselves on having two experienced goalkeepers fighting it out for the number 1 jersey, why is that no longer the case? Why is budget such if substantial resources are available that we now need to look at either a second keeper for competition or maximising our outfield playing staff. Surely if we were really pushing and desperate to stay up we would be strengthening all parts of the squad and not weakening the strength in one area to bolster another. In years gone by we didn't need to do that.

I don’t have social media. I make comments on how I see them, not on what is being said by the club. My choice, donny exile in York is your choice. I am not here for an argument. People have opinions. That’s it

Spilsby great post and I agree with what you’ve put. Also agree that putting in a spirited performance will get the crowd behind them, it’s got to work from both sides.

Obviously Watford weren’t happy with the game time that Dahlberg would be getting hence he has gone elsewhere-why is that a budget decision?

Me neither. At the end of the day we all care about our club. I just don't think it is being disloyal to criticise our current predicament. Believe me I wish we were top like in 2012-13, a team of misters, with heart and courage.. 15 away wins in a season, compared to one point so far away this season. Anyway me neither Spilsby, let's hope Agard bags a debut hattrick and me and others have a restbite and eulogise the goals instead.

I go along with your point of view.

I have suffered the ups and downs of supporting Donny for over 60years.

I try to take a philosophical view on football, its a game, promotion and relegation is all part of the game and by the same token "its not a matter of life and death its much more important than that" said the great man.

Take my advice folks, take a step back, get behind the boys, manager and the board what will be will be.

Hey, CDH, you're back. Some of us were concerned that you might have been ill, or might have been banned.

Is everything OK?

Hi Steve. Thanks for the concern. I've had my difficulties yes, as we all have. I did get banned yes and rightly so as i had a bit of a meltdown although i can't remember what it was about now as it's been so long. Must have been something about wanting Boris Johnson to die, which i'm sure many other people might now also feel similar given what has happened since i got banned.

Hope you are ok too and also the best village in Doncaster. My old stomping ground of Scawsby.
