At least some strikes on goal;

Another day we would have taken the points.
Onwards!

There were a few more chances for rovers in the first half than that clip shows.

5 or 6 -0 would not have flattered us in that first half.
They were a poor team, but took the chance they had, and changed tactics for the second half. We came again, but not to the levels of the first half.

As good as I have seen us play for 18 months, we may be down, but there a signs we may be back.

What?

That 18 months encompasses a period where we won 48 points from 23 games.

This is a sign of how far we have fallen. When we actually manage to be competitive in a game for the first time in eternity, folk laud it as some sort of historically brilliant performance.

Good point to make, I should have put since DM had his head turned - not sure how long that is, feels like a lifetime though.

Since Whiteman went.

Have to say we never adequately replaced Whiteman or Marquis, did we? I can see why folks are pissed off and ask questions.

Far too much trust put in Darren Moore, who did a right number on us and the rot set in. We haven’t recovered. Butler was a rabbit in the headlights. Wellens talked a good game but was crap.

I really do think in McSheffrey we have a good young manager. I can see improvements. I think it bodes well. So, yeah, we likely go down this season but it’s happened before. We will regroup and bounce back.

Keep the faith.

Encouraging that we showed some attacking threat.

But Jeez our defending...

IFollow cheat us with these “extended” highlights by replaying nearly all the sequences which end with an attempt on goal. If we want to see a particular segment again we can repeat it for ourselves. In effect, by forcing us to watch almost every segment twice, some of which are not at all memorable, they are reducing what we are seeing and paying for with our subscription.

From the highlights ...... if half those hits on the posts had gone in before half time ......

People talk about what an “experienced” manager might be achieving for us as opposed to GM. He would still have the same group of sub-standard Wellens recruits in the majority from which to select. And just as it’s difficult to recruit players in the January window with relegation looming, so it would be difficult to find the mythical managerial genius that would be able to make more out of the current squad than GM.

GM cannot turn base metal into gold, but he certainly seems to making far more of his very moderate playing assets than his predecessor. And better still, he talks constructively and perceptively rather than streaming excuses.

Well said, got to agree with your comments above. I like what Gary McSheffrey is saying & doing things are improving.

Exactly. He has a maturity about him that reminds me of SO’D. Looks at the stats, talks sense about the way the game is played. Doesn’t seem to get flustered.

He sees the bigger picture for sure. Don’t think he is into ‘panic buys’ but rather would wait and bring quality, which again is better big picture.

And maybe Frank Sinclair is his RO’K - the motivator, the vocal one conveying stuff to the lads…

The last year has been shit for Rovers and for us fans. For me personally, it’s been challenging. I was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis which is a significant thing. Thankfully, it’s not progressing,  but life goes on. Right?

Same for Rovers. Yes, we will likely go down, but I like what I’m seeing and hearing from McSheffrey, and sometimes a step backwards to lick our wounds and regroup better and stronger is necessary. We’ve done it before. RTID
