Only Martin would see that run and have the ability to weight the ball perfectly too. Reo looks aggressive and means it. Like him from what i've seen.

I think Martin is looking every bit our best player. He’s class. What a coup he would be in L2 if we went down.
Obviously need to see a bit more of Griffiths though.

Someone asked on another thread how their “ghost goal” wasn’t allowed but looking those highlights I would say that the ball had gone out of play before it was crossed back to the far post for the header so it should never have even happened.
Also, someone said that Mitchell should have done better just before the Sunderland goal but by the same token, so should the Sunderland keeper for our first goal.

Just watched it over and over again.

Fantastic performance. I loved the way the players celebrated those goals, and congratulated Michell for those saves. Our supporters were loud too.

Well done everyone.

has anyone noticed that when Jones made a great save, none of the defence gave him a fist pump etc, I've noticed it a few times, and it dunt bode well for team moral?

To do that they would have had to run over to the dugout while there was a corner about to be taken

Usually though we have been behind in a game when Louis made saves. It’s a different mentality when you are doggedly clinging on and under siege.

I’ve said all season that our real weaknesses has been that attacking midfield/ No10 area and not getting runners from deeper positions. Reo’s goal shows how we have strengthens in that area with both the run and the pass.

Yeo and that helps defensively. They are not under the cosh knowing a goal against is game over and the opposition have to be mindful they can't just push forward.

It was a strength we had when sharp was here I thought he held it well meaning we weren't always under pressure.

Great save down to his left post by Mitchell, poor goal he conceded. Overall a great game by him. Griffiths looks some specimen if he carries on like that. Like a hard working JET, powerful, quick and a good asset.

Two very very good saves by Mitchell. Their goal looked a bit of a mess between defence and keeper.

Sammy, the Sunderland keeper could have done better with his attempt to stop our first goal too.
All goals are preventable aren’t they.

The defence today gave him better protection than the Rotherham game. There’s no doubt Sunderland we’re inept but we took full advantage of it. The selection of the Sunderland team played right into our hands. Half the bench they had could have given us a harder game than we got. Not our problem though, our team was right today, we showed a bit of durability that we will need for the rest of the season.

To go there and win, was a fantastic effort, but only means something if it’s backed up by beating Ipswich or at least getting a point. Consistency of performance is now what we’re looking for.
