Hiwula seemed to drop off after Wellens called him out for being a "circus act" for no reason in the papers, never really recovered.

While I agree it was poor management, your post implies Hiwula was any good to start with.

Worst signing I can remember.

I really hope he is on the transfer list this week. A change is probably needed for his sake as much as ours.

Well don't forget he only made a handful of appearances before this, so he didn't exactly have much time to get going. There's obviously a player in there.

For next season someone like Paul Huntington from Preston(contract running out) at the side of Olowu would be a good partnership.
Get Pape Soare from Charlton, left back, contract also running out. Then all of a sudden you have a good defence just with two players moved in.

Souare's no better than what we have here now but would likely cost more.

I just wish we had defenders with some footballing ability, who can cope with the play from the back style that is a prerequisite to getting our midfield into space, and don’t tamely surrender territory, and an opposition set piece, every time a long ball is sent in to our half.  They don’t have to be as good as Baudry but it would be nice if skill level was part of the recruitment criteria.  At the moment we have the worst of all worlds, poor defence and low skill levels.
