Adam Clayton’s pass to Knoyle for the first goal, sublime

It was indeed a great pass by Clayton but my word, Burton gave him the freedom of Donny to make it. He must have had 15 yards square space to do as he pleases, but the cross from Knoyle was spot on.

Only two other clubs in the bottom half have matched our form over the last five games. It’s ticked up, but not enough. Some of that is down to having a functioning midfield back. In front and behind them it has still been lacking and hence we are going down.

Yes, but he didn't take long to pass it. One touch and pass which made the difference.

Players like Knoyle are capable of so much more with that sort of play. His confidence and composure can only improve in the final third with that sort of encouragement.

I have been saying all season DBR that Knoyle has not been used properly in this team.
You don’t get the number of assists he did last season if he didn’t have ability.  Wellens knocked the stuffing out of him and GM has taken an age to start getting him in offensive positions more often.

He will be a big player for us next season if his strengths are used to the full.

If we can, we must secure Bostock, him and Clayton compliment each other, there will be no better central midfield pair in L2

And imagine we sign a left back and add Rowe into the midfield mix.

If we assume Bostock, John and Anderson will go, and Fejiri won’t play next season, then we are probably short a central defensive leader, two strikers, a left back and a central midfielder as a minimum. These need to be permanent and not teenage loanees.

So you wouldn't consider a Jordon Houghton type player or any of the other good midfield loanees we've had?

In addition, yes. I was listing who we need to sign permanently.

If Smith is available we really need to sign him, once he finds where the goal is he will be worth his weight in gold.
Warning to any league one admirers looking to sign on loan - his last two teams have been relegated

I like Clayton. Already has been a big influence, Expecting even more next season. Him and a couple more are the only current players that I actually like. That makes me sad. Says it all really, in past seasons, I have changed favourite players a few times, like a big kid !.
