Looks like he might be heading back to Oldham Athletic. Played for them last Saturday in friendly against Bamber Bridge.

Be a good move for him, I was quite disappointed when he was released because I thought league two would suit his style of play as he is as strong & physical which are big attributes in the bottom division. I’ve always believed to be successful you need horses for courses players rather than fancy Dans.

Agreed, I though second half of the season he was a real asset, put a shift in and was steady and solid. And he could take a cracking penalty - I'd have been happy to keep him if we could.

He’s not fit enough to play a full season. Especially two games a week.

He’s not fit enough to play a full season. Especially two games a week.
I just looked this up in a bold attempt to prove you wrong and I was shocked how few starts Gardner had made - 2 fewer than Close, who was like the elusive Scarlett Pimpernell himself! I withdraw my previous statement!

He has ability at the level, you are certainly right about that. Really struggles to recover after games etc etc.
