Attendances
« on December 26, 2022, 07:13:09 pm by scawsby steve »
A lot of people are voting with their feet now, and staying away. Whether this will be a concern to Blunt and co, I've no idea. Maybe not, when Club Doncaster can make a fortune from rock concerts like the recent Killers show.

From my own point of view, I can't be bothered trailing all the way up to the Eco in the cold, to watch the dreadful stuff that's being served up right now. I'd much rather pay the extra tenner to watch on iFollow in the comfort and warmth of my living room, as I will be doing on Thursday, even though it means in effect that I'm paying twice for the game.

However, my youngest grandson wants me to take him to the Carlisle game, even though I've told him that they're one of the best teams in the league, and will probably trounce us again as they did at their place.

He definitely wants to go, so I can't let him down. I'm absolutely dreading it.

I felt the same last season Steve , it absolutely destroyed my soul watching that garbage .

I stuck it out but only for one reason , the reason is when the good times come and they will return you'll enjoy them all the more because you stuck it out .

Totally agree with that sentiment, Tyke; but I actually fear that the good times won't ever come back again. Not with this bloke as chairman.

As long as Club Doncaster are doing OK, he'll not give a f*ck about the football.

These kind of performances are testing the most dedicated Rovers fans, & that includes myself. You could argue the league position is decent, but there is a apathy about the club now, & matchday is a chore, was going on Thursday but really cannot stomach watching that absolute rubbish. I will be doing the same as scawsby steve & watching on ifollow rather than trudge down there.

Exactly this. Never give up hope.

But fortunately I can’t be at the next 2 home games as I’m on holiday

Sometimes you just have to go to the back catalogue for some inspiration .

I cut my teeth as a kid when we were proper fourth division and attracting 3k every week in the 60's and 70's .

It's probably why I've stuck it out all these years because we've had some tough times since although not quite as bad as the 70's .

A couple of new lads in next month could turn it around and you make a play off spot and then you've as much chance as the other three clubs who may be having better season's at the moment .

This happens times over , it's not necessarily how you start a season , win that final game at Wembley and who will give a monkey's about today ?

I was half tempted to go today, now I'm not even sure I can be bothered to take my seat on Thursday.
Fair play to the 600 or so who made the effort to witness that in the flesh.

We are off to Orient for what will probably be a pasting.
But I get to see my lad and there will be some beers to be had.

When i think back to some of the absolute drudge we had to endure under some pretty crap regimes in the past then it does make this period important to us because if we lose stalwarts now then then we will really struggle in the future.

The attractions for folk now are massive and varied, football in our city looks like its loosing the battle. It would be awful to end up back to the hardcore 1.5k to 2k that stuck out most of the very long malaise we had to endure. The club need to focus on this and be pre-emptive in ensuring that it does not return, this time they may lose the fanbase for more than the odd generation.
