12-4-12 the most polarised team in the league
« on February 09, 2023, 04:46:57 pm by Copps is Magic »
Least draws in league two, the perfect balance between wins and losses. Cant string a run of results together either way. Looked comfortable against several of the top 6, and looked rubbish against several teams at the bottom.

How to build consistency? How to build grit to draw loosing games? Is it at the margins of not having a good/big enough squad? Is it mentality? Is it something the coaches are not instilling in the players?

Coaching, mentality. Leadership. Those are the 3 words.
Oh for having the the mentality of that 12/13 team and the leadership Jones gave.

We don’t need to have 14 players as good as we had that season to get out of this league. What we do need is coaching/ man management, mentality and leadership. They are the missing ingredients to having a top 3 team.

I’ve been banging this drum ever since before we appointed the current manager. And sadly this isn’t going to come from him, nor will he sign the players that will give us this. Processes and lightweights that are “good on the ball” is what we can expect for the foreseeable.

If he doesn’t understand what it takes to get out of this league then we have appointed the wrong man yet again.
Now DS is Copps man. He must surely understand that you need some Physicality, grit, and leadership.
Players with promotion on their CV.
How many players do we have with that on their CV?  Tommy Rowe is the only one I can think of.

Does Copps want that they were both technical players and lightweight that’s the players we are getting. To change that then DS and Copps would have to go to be replaced by an experienced manager who knows the league. To bring in technical strong and taller players would need more money anyway. Let’s see how we develop for the rest of the season.

Wouldn’t mind one but if they were replaced. An experienced manager that knows the league would be lovely. Few players that are physical and technical are not really playing at our level. So it’s one or the other. Personally I’d like the physical option. We get bullied far too often.
