This was a conversation we were having on the way home yesterday for the exact reasons already stated. I've not been to any away games and missed several home games but from what I've seen, it's a poor league. The Stevenage game is a stand out for me, I think it was Schofield's first game (?) and we were comfortably the better team against them and lost to a classic Steve Evans smash and grab. We beat Northampton away, we've beaten Carlisle, maybe should have beaten Bradford with ten men on the pitch. I think as long as the performance yesterday wasn't a one off and we put some consistency together and strengthen a bit, then the play offs are realistic. It falls to Copps and the Board now to try and get the targets we need to support DS and build on this bit of momentum we've got and bounce back decisively.
Not a good league which is why there’s so much frustration even though we’re in a decent position. If we can start winning games more comfortably (2-0 or 3-0 instead of 2-1 or 4-3!) more often I’d be confident of getting playoffs but everything feels a bit last ditch too often.
