It's tantamount to fraud but no doubt it will be more work in the courtroom for very highly paid legal teams to try to circumvent.

Yet again though, more evidence for the need for financial reforms.

Think a points deduction is the best they can hope for,Even being removed from the EPL is been talked about ,The issue is if nothing happens then all the clubs will just spend what they want and lie about players and managers wages

The authorities won’t have the balls to expel them.

Can’t see them getting expelled. Points deductions (maybe over a few seasons) and a transfer embargo for a few seasons would make other clubs think twice.

It'll take years for this to be sorted either way once the legal eagles get involved, appeal after appeal on whichever decision from either party

It’s why we need an independent regulator!

No chance of removing them from EPL,money talks,Removing the innocent Belles for the Man city W.F.C. even if they had'nt finished in relegation, well that's another story.

Thats been my opinion/wish for years now.It took an independant organisations from football like the F.B.I. among others to stop and punish the corruption by Blatter + Platini.

Any chance they can be removed from the WSL and the Belles get the place back that was stolen from them?

Would that be the same regulator who let Bolton get away with calling their game with us off?

Pep has vowed to walk if these allegations are founded . We shall see how much he values his 20 mil a year over his morals. If guilty I’d banish them to a league someone in Qatar.

Funny Pep said that. It’s obviously true.

If they get found guilty or not is a different story.

If City lied about how much the players were on and paid them more than declared ,Did the club then pay the correct amount of tax for the players or what they alleged they got paid as if so that would be a real can of worms being opened

Thing is. We can see how long it's taken for Man City to be investigated...then be given a slap on the hand by UEFA but the Premier League press ahead with the charges as they don't have any time limitations on the rules. How can the authorities keep on top of ALL clubs when these financial matters need forensic monitoring and investigation?

It's one thing appointing a regulator but surely there has to be simpler means of auditing clubs on a regular basis to ensure they are compliant with the rules?

More loopholes need to be closed so money in and out of clubs, often through overseas companies, can be easily traced and accounted for.

Surely the first step is making it mandatory that every EPL and EFL Club trades through a UK listed company irrespective of the ownerships country of origin, then be limited to number of subsidiaries so that all income and expenditure is transparent!

All very complex stuff but prevention is always better than cure.

I very much doubt they have players on a conventional payroll where they'd deduct PAYE.

If you've got any evidence that any other clubs have also broken rules I'm sure the authorities would love to see it.

Why don't they bring in a "bonus points for information leading to conviction of financial irregularities, fraud etc" scheme in to play? Get the clubs to grass each other up,extra 3 league points awarded to "X" for the information they donated to convict "Y" of financial irregularities.I would start a trial period in the premier league,Man utd grass Liverpool, liverpool grass Everton,Chelsea grass Spurs,Spurs grass Arsenal Etc,let them implode  :silly:

It’s why we need an independent regulator!

And lo and behold, right on cue someone from EPL uses charging Man City as proof that they're keeping their own house in order and that an independent regulator isn't needed. What a coincidence!

I'll withhold judgement until I see how much Man City are punished.
