If it's not McCann

Fan base has crumbled. But it seems on one subject there is consensus.  McCann is the popular choice.

So was Wellens.

Wellens signed 8 or 9 players at Leyton? Mizounu who is in team of the season, Moncur who was outstanding for 3/4 of the season. Both of whom would be out our budget I guess? He signed plenty there and got them up?

Your right dickos pleased I can agree with you on this.  :)

He did not spend any money on transfer fees as far as I am aware.
The Playing wages budget will have been higher than ours that will be a definite. Pratley, Moncur and one or 2 others would have been on top League 2 wages.
Wellens had a decent squad to work with and has moulded them into a Promotion outfit. Champions.

There was an awful lot wrong with our recruitment in the Summer of 2021  it now looks like the budget Wellens was given was totally inadequate to achieve the top 12 place Blunt said was the target.
Having said that the team spirit in that squad was not good from day one of the season. The Bogle situation imo had an awful lot to do with creating disharmony imo.

Has McCann been seen at Cantley? Was he wearing a hat?

No that was definitely Bielsa.

Now that would be an interesting appointment.
The entertainment factor would go off the Richter scale.   :silly:

My Orient contacts lead me to believe that he improved the existing squad and reading between the lines, he seemed to have learned a good deal from his experience with Rovers. On the wages front, remember London clubs have to pay London wages where costs of living are so much more expensive.

On contracts, as people have noted, the 12 month rolling ones are for cautious potential money-saving reasons minimising the cost of dismissal in the event of failure and might be seen as a lack of faith in the appointee. Longer term contracts express greater belief and cost the raiding club more in compensation, so are more of a deterrent. But of course, although some may say every man has his price, some successful managers have remained loyal. And it has happened the other way in McCann’s own career, certainly at Hull, and to a lesser degree at Peterborough twice(!) which may well cause him to think carefully in future when faced with an approach to move on.

But speculation in the past has not been very successful, so a lot of this may well be wasted thought.

Imagine Bielsa trying to take this mob litter picking round Donny town centre like he did at Leeds. There'd be more entertainment on offer there than we saw on the pitch this season that's for sure.
