He's a target man.

At Bristol Rovers, yes, but he was almost a 1 in 2 striker with us.

I'd love to think this kid can do the same. Fingers crossed.

Aye , fingers crossed then.
G Mcann certainly cracking on with recruitment. We’ve never seen decisiveness like this,

On scoring rate remember he plays for Cambridge in a division where they’ll often be up against it. Likely to score a lot more in a low division with a team, hopefully, going for promotion.

Wish the club would stop with the player videos. They are the most cringeworthy thing i have ever seen. The players cant seriously be happy with doing em.

You do anything they want if they’re guaranteeing you 3 years money in the uncertain world of professional football.

Feels a bit like pre season 65 and 68, let’s hope we have the same success. Just hope that the great pre season signing of Laurie is looking over us.

We mentioned him a few weeks ago.

Good signing. Will do a good job at this level.
Little bit surprised he has got a 3 year deal. Thought 2 yrs would have been given.
GM must rate him then. Will know him well as he played nearby to Peterborough.

Just found out that he is the Grandson of Roy Ironside the former Rotherham and Barnsley Goal keeper who played in the 60’s and son of former Scarborough goalkeeper Ian Ironside who played in the 80’s

3 year deal is an eyebrow-raiser but I’m not going to knock the signing at all. We need to get out of this league and he seems to be a very good player at this level. A bit of nous and someone who knows how to link play and hold the ball up up-front has been badly needed. Welcome Joe!

I'm out of the loop with regards to knowing about lower league players so I've not heard about him before.
Is he the type of player who will score the goals to get us up at the business end of the table or is he a target man and we're potentially going to bring in the goalscorer to play alongside him? Or even play Miller alongside him?

Cambridge United journo:

“Donny have just acquired a proven, and excellent, player for League Two level. A real battering ram who will go toe to toe with everyone, bring others into play and perform with his heart on his sleeve. U’s fans will be roaring him on.”

This is a great signing, for all the things he brings, but and probably the biggest thing... George Miller, 11 goals last season, stranded on his own for the remainder of the season enough to lose his confidence, a great link up for him and a season where Miller can kick on.

Nobody has a clue how all this is actually going to turn out but the contrast to every single window since 2019 is extremely stark. Actually looks like someone has a plan and knows something about the players other than YouTube clips. We’ve lived through some truly terrible times last few seasons.

One assumes that we have also used more than one agent too, it was worrying that we only used  Schofields agent previously

If that was actually the case then it’s a very bad joke. Are we a Professional football club or a very poor comedy act?
Looks as though the latter was what we were over the last 3 years and we are now back to being the former. Thank heavens.

Camps it was only what I gleaned from here that all of DS signings were on the books of the same agent as DS of course it could be billow but nobody refuted it at the time.
Overall we seem a professionally run outfit again thankfully
