Of course they're in the shite, paying £20-£25k a week to Bannan in Lg1, and many others earning a right wedge, totally unsustainable and they will reap what they've sown.

Didn’t we ask fans to make a donation to help buy Mike Jeffrey from Bolton back in the early 90’s?

I realise that they’re completely different circumstances though.

Didn’t we also ask for donations to pay someone’s wages or buy a player during our stay in the conference? Seem to remember donating to something or other

It was in the Championship. Milan Lalkovic from Chelsea on loan.

Definitely not in the know but remember reading that their owner has basically stopped funding them. Think it’s something to do with all the abuse he’s been getting and possibly his money drying up

We should be glad when our owners were getting all the abuse that they didn’t spit the dummy out and stop funding us

COYR

Hardly comparable.

Our owners got the abuse because they already HAD stopped funding us to the level they previously had. Thankfully they finally recognised the disastrous effect it was having on the club from top to bottom and the widescale unrest amongst the fans and this led to them very publicly announcing further funds would be made available. Hence McCann returning amd additional funds being made available for the playing budget this season. They took the action necessary to reverse the decline and the fact we're still struggling this season shows just how hard it is to arrest such a disastrous period of decline and under investment.

One might argue that the more vocal of our fanbase over the last few years who weren't content to just sit there happy clapping, actively contributed to the much needed change of direction this season.

what happens though when eventually and its not a nice thing to say anything happens to TB and then for instance his children don't want to take on the club and invest in it.

What then?

I still think the main issue is the poor attendances.

What do you think the attendances should be and why?

Spot on, mate. This is what I've been saying for ages, and is the main reason why you can't keep writing seasons off with the notion that we'll go for it next season.

No-one knows if Terry will still be funding us next season or the season after. Of course, we've got the contingency plan of returning to the sustainability model of Club Doncaster, which is efficient for balancing the books and keeping us out of debt; but we all know that it cannot fund a promotion drive.

As regards attendances, for some reason we've never been able to compete with Barnsley, even when we've been in the same division.

The main sporting interest with the Donny public seems to be the racecourse. It's a real shame.

I thought that at the time I heard that a local businessman financed that deal.

I’m sure from memory Mike’s dad paid the £15k transfer, I could be mistaken.
