That throw in…..

Where MK Dons looked like they weren’t going to give the ball back, why did it take so long

Good question.
We were thinking they weren’t going to return the ball.
The ref seemed to have seen something at the far side of the box, but from where I was sat it wasnt Clear what.
Also, has the rule changed on players having to leave the pitch after treatment changed.
Two of our players had treatment but were allowed to stay on the pitch then one of the MK players had the same situation.
Later in the game though Joe Olowu had to go off after treatment.

We were all asking that question where I was sat.
Very strange. One rule for one and another rule op for others  ;)

I was chatting to some of the press lot at HT.
They were under the impression when the two Donny lads both needed attention at the same time, because it was a head injury, this means they were exempt from having to leave the field.
Secondly, their bloke who went down injured after being tackled by Senior ( I believe) didn’t have to leave the field after treatment as Senior was booked.
Make of that what you wish.

Yet Olowu had to go off for a head injury

Interestingly the 4th Official seemed to timekeep the 30 seconds and allow him on

To be fair, I always thought it would be wise for the fourth official to timekeep the thirty seconds.
The ref has enough to deal with.

I think Moly/Rowe didn't go off because ref stopped the game so it wasn't 'timewasting'.

Not sure why the MK lad didn't go off but if it was due to booking then it makes some sort of sense.

I understand the reasoning behind the rule coming in but think it needs some work.

Yet Olowu had to go off for a head injury
because the one with both rovers players was because they collided with themselves rather than just have a head injury

Me and those around me were totally confused as to why the players weren’t required to go off after injury.

As for the throw-in, I think the MK Dons players were intending to be t**ts and not throw the ball back to us.
The ref didn’t give them instructions, which didn’t help.

I loved the outcome though, when they eventually threw it to Senior and he just let it go past him for a goal kick!

It's been the rule for years that if the offender gets a yellow the player doesn't have to go off.

Does the 30 second rule only start when play restarts?

There still doesn’t seem to be consistency even when a booking is involved
Do the laws specify where the player has to come back on the pitch from ?
