The problem is getting back. I’ve given up on the bus and walk back to the train station.

Only 2 buses an hour and packed out on the way back.

What happened to all those soccer specials that use to wait at the racecourse roundabout?

Do hope you can manage

 :According to club’s website,
Service 73 leaves Frenchgate centre at 10 & 40 minutes after the hour.
Service 58 leaves Frenchgate at 25 & 55 minutes after the hour..
In addition Service 72 leaves Frenchgate at 22 and 52 minutes after the hour going via Balby Rd. Sandford Road. Tickhill Road and Woodfield Way. Picking up at all recognised bus stops.
More info. www.firstgroup.com or 01709 515151

Hope this helps Jimmy. It would have been a lot quicker if I knew how to cut and paste. :(

There was a big queue when we got out after clapping the team off.
The couple behind us always leave five minutes or more before the end but they were near to the front of the queue.

Transport to and from the new stadium has been a problem since we moved there. It prevents many fans going to games who might otherwise be there. Not everyone has access to a car every single time and we shouldn't be expecting everyone to go by car anyway these days. Older children can't go by themselves very easily. Elderly and disabled people find it hard. Night games have even less bus services. It's not a nice or safe walk to and from town etc etc.

It's all part of the price we paid for moving to an anonymous out of town business park/retail park with fewer amenities (like regular bus services and proper pubs) rather than staying in the heart of a residential area surrounded by people who can walk up.

We had to move and it's a great stadium we're fortunate to have, but we also lost that aspect of our club where the stadium is right in amongst its people. I hate having to go by car every single time and parking a mile away. I'll never get used to that experience. I'd much rather we were closer to town like Barnsley and Rotherham still are for example.

Maybe they could extend the tram-train up to Donny then to the airport via the stadium.

Every aspect of that post is spot on; and is the reason why, despite being a ST holder, I'm getting to less and less games these days.

The club seems to assume that everyone has regular access to a car.

The bus seems to have changed recently; it used to be about 5.05 and it was easy for everyone to get on, but last game it was nearer 5.45 before it turned up. We used to have shuttle busses between the stadium and town, back in championship days. They scrapped them because "they weren't getting used". If they only had one, it would get used.

I brought the bus issue up with Martin a few years ago, who then spoke to the club. I don't think anything really improved

I think the issue needs revisiting. I come down from Scotland whenever I can, but need to get back to the station. At 71 the walk is getting too much. I'm even happy to get a taxi but how the hell could we meet up.

Could the club not hire 3 buses for each home match. A season long contract might get a bit of a discount.

And.... my Jock Bus Pass doesn't work in civilisation !!!

Great result today.
