With teachers like these..
« on March 25, 2010, 10:29:42 pm by jucyberry »
I am beginning to wonder about the mentality of the teachers  in some parts of the country..is the aim of the teaching body to educate or traumatise the children half to death?

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1256984/Primary-schoolchildren-tears-told-removed-families-Holocaust-game.html

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1260521/Evesham-school-fake-shooting-teacher-traumatises-children.html

and if these aren't enough, yesterday I read of a five year old left up a tree in the school yard because of health and safety..

Rather makes you want to weep doesn't it?

Jucy. When I pick up the Daily Mail and it says \"Thursday 25 March\" on the front page, I go and check the calendar.

This is the paper that in the middle of the 1924 General Election campaign printed a fake letter claiming to \"prove\" that the Labour Party were in hock to the Soviet Union. They pretty well ensured that Labour lost that election. Yesterday, they printed an article stating that a Communist Union takeover of the Labour Party will happen if they win the election. Same old, same old...

Their history of slanting stories that have any liberal/left aspect to them whatsoever goes back into the mists of time, and I have no doubt at all that these latest stories are biased and full of half-truths.

Daily Mail? I wouldn't wipe my arse on it.

it's a slow education BST....I've just graduated on from reading the sun..Baby steps and all that..
Lazy reason for reading it being I like the layout of the web page..No more no less. That and the fact that reading the comments is akin to watching Jeremy kyle.. Both is packed with loathsome beasties you would never want to meet. It facinates me.

I've never read the comments on a Daily Mail webpage but I imagine most start with the words \"I'm not racist but....\"

Not quite Jay. Most of them start with, \"Now I AM racist and...\"

Daily Mail. The paper that thrives on feeding people a line that the whole of civilization is about to collapse around their ears. The paper that starts every second front page headline with the word \"Now...\" (as in, \"Int today shite compared to the good old days?\").

The paper that once had a front page headline \"Now They're Saying CHEESE Can Kill You!\"

The prosecution rests.

Slightly o/t - but it reminded me of a conversation I had with some people last time I was there about the newspapers.  I incorrectly assumed that the BBC just provided info that the government wanted you to hear, and that Sky, being a Rupert Murdock owned entity, was conservative and biased to the enth degree, etc.  However, they explained that every reporter must show both sides of a story or they would never be hired and that most of the major newspapers were mostly balanced.  (sports stories about DRFC excepted!!)

This was surprising to me as Fox Channel in the US (also Murdock owned) is one of the worst for republican-biased views with idiot conservative interviewers inciting a generally ignorant viewership. But I tend to watch CNN, as I sometimes I even doubt the major networks...

Also, I know the libel laws in the US prevent many stories from being published, but these folks assured me that this is not the case in the EU.  As an example, during the time I was there the Tiger Woods story had broken in the US, but at that time there were maybe two women, but even the respected papers there had the number waaay up, which ultimately proved to be the case.

Of course tabloids are excepted in this, though it is fun to read them at the supermarket checkout line!  The last one I can remember was  in 'The National Enquirer' -  \"Two-Headed Alien from Mars Gives Birth to Normal Child\"!!    :)
