Pray God JR takes a 'serious' look at this thread and more importanty, Dazza's work.

I know JR is very loyal to his staff, which is not a trait to be undermined in this day & age however, on the other hand, if the club is to move on 'off field' as quickly as it's moved 'on field', someone needs to take a long hard look at the people we have in what are key areas of the club, if we are ever to progress & move onwards & upwards.

No names of course, but we fans know who these toe curling men & women are. Time to ship 'em out, gently & with thanks, and get some REAL enthusiasm, new ideas & passion in there.

That will never happen. For that to happen he would need to start at the top and we all know thats wont change.

I may be way off the mark here, but I would suggest the Laura Whiting/Corporate team are probably switched on and academically qualified in their role. They probably have work experience in marketing and customer focus too. I base this on the number of phone calls I have had from that department in the last 3 years and when I have had dealings with them. Interestingly, I believe these are all new in post and appointed as Rovers took these giant steps forward.

However, we have other areas that are simply Sunday League in terms of quality, and may be it's that these crazy kids were with us when we were effectively Sunday League. These are the ones that have stood still, as the club has moved massively forward. There may be a clear training issue here, in that they are incapable (through no fault of their own) of delivering a marketing/customer focus service and thus stick with what they know ie 'carnt do owt and am realy buzy at the moment'.

The club has switched itself on/moved with the current DRFC climate in terms of corporate focus, I think most would agree. Well Done DRFC

The club has stood still, done nothing, in terms of individual customer focus, I think most would agree. Must do much better DRFC.

The lack of individual customer focus is further exaggerated, by the huge success of DRFC and in effect as made it go very much backwards.

This is not too late. It can be rescued. It can be sorted. I' m never happy when people come up to me with a problem, I like them to come with a problem and then a solution. So more than happy, as would most on here, to be part of a focus group to look at marketing/customer focus.

If Morris, Ryan, media, marketing, customer services or whoever are reading this from the club (which I suspect you are), then as Dick Dastardly always says to Muttley 'DO SOMETHING'

A combination of Morris and Uttley and what do we get ....................Muttley.

Just about sums it up.

Surely we will all be therefor the VSC AGM, JR will be there to give his speech and take questions and answers. I'll give the question about Dazza, see what happens then. At least we'll have an answer from the horses mouth so to speak, Dave :)

I've also thrown some videos up on to YouTube (Channel FuzzyDuckRTID).  There are 4 Rovers vids from me up there; Best Goals 2009/10, One Vision, End of Season Awards and Billy Sharp Tribute.  They are not Dazza's standard, I just put them together and try to fit them to a music track, but I do enjoy doing them.

On Steve Utteley, you'll probably find that there are copyright issues with the Perform Group / BBC that prevent Steve from giving a green light to such a project.  I half expect my vids to be removed from YouTube because of this issue.

It's a shame though as the quality of the one official video from Rovers up on YouTube isn't the best.  Dazza, I am sure, could polish it up a bit!

Its a great video Dazza...but some folk have hit the nail on the head in that the videos will hit some licence / copyright  /broadcast problems & laws - so Steve's hands are tied - to some extent.
I will talk to JR when he gets back - and to Steve too....Steve is very keen to get stuff for the website - so dont read too much in to some comments on this thread - if he can help you - he will.....its others at DRFC that get in the way.

As to the VSC - AGM......we are awaiting a reply on the date - obviously we want the 1st home game  on Aug 14th...but need to have JR there - and he has nt confirmed he can do the morning slot as yet....and of course - we have to have him there!

Cheers,
Gareth

One little bit of advice for you Dazza.

Dissolves are for people who don't know when to cut.

Is he very keen to get stuff on the website, or very keen to get his own stuff on the website?

I ask that as a genuine question. Especially as throughout today he's been beeming live tweets and updates from Devon on his own twitter feed, whilst the official twitter feed has lay dormant. And in the season just gone we had the issue of match photographs going up on Mr Uttley's facebook page before they were going up on the official club website, or in some cases instead of. And Saturday at Solihull too, did we really need two photographers pitchside?

Last time I raised these concerns you dismissed my comments, but scroll up the page and look at the reply I got from the club when I tried to offer constructive help. I'm asking these questions because I think they need answering for the benefit of the club and how it is perceived. Steve is surely a true and thorough professional, he must be to have got the position he's currently in, but it isn't coming across that way. And that needs addressing.

That is a very good point, presumably Mr Uttley is getting paid as an employee whilst he`s updating his own personal twitter feed in Devon, maybe he should be updating the clubs official twitter feed during his working day, something that he`s probably well paid to do!
