Doncaster Rovers Belles are delighted to announce the signing of ex England international striker Katie Anderton from Blackburn Rovers LFC.

26 year-old Anderton moves to South Yorkshire from FA Tesco Premier League side Blackburn, with whom she has been with since 2003. Katie has been instrumental in Blackburn’s rise through the division’s, scoring many goals to become the most prolific goalscorer in the Lancashire club's history.

In fact her outstanding club form saw her get selected for the senior England side and was named in Hope Powell's provisional 30-player England squad ahead of the 2007 World Cup.

Katie has been a regular feature at the top of the goalscoring charts since Blackburn’s promotion to the National Premier League and in February 2007 the striker signed a three-month deal to play for American side FC Indiana from May that year, returning to the UK in time for the start of the 2007-08 season.

The tall and skilful striker began her career with local side Preston North End Girls before later joining Tranmere Rovers Ladies.
