A leaf out of the Wendy's book ?
« on August 06, 2010, 02:05:18 pm by dfo2010 »
I was talking to a friend about the price of watching the rovers and him being a sheff wed was shocked and told me to check out there web site . Maybe rovers should take a leaf out of there book to get more bums on seats ..............

Season ticket holder refer a friend and for every friend that buys a season ticket get 5% off there season ticket and you can refer as many as you want .

League Cup £10 same as the rovers but only £5 for season ticket holders .

You can pay for your season ticket in interest free installments .

They offer a weekend season ticket for all those who week in the wee

Half season tickets for the first and second half of the season .

Community Concessions - A community membership is not availbe to pay on the gate , but gives cheaper tickets to students , armed forces , people claiming working tax credit , jobseekers and income support .

Look at how much they are doing to help get fans though the gate in hard times .

Yeah but they have a huge stadium, therefore like clubs such as Bradford, they can afford to reduce prices etc and not reduce overall revenues.

You would have to have a look at how many additional fans we would need to get the same revenues with cheaper prices - and I bet to make any kind of impact, there simply wouldn't be enough seats in the ground.

see your point but there not really reducing there prices by offering the different type of season ticket , half / weekend / installments . and 5% back if you refer a friend so roughly £20 to you and another season ticket holder for the club .

You can pay for your season ticket in interest free installments with the Rovers Supporters club  :scarf: in the office within the community changing rooms. Speak to Len South on home matchdays or Paul Mayfield (retford Rover)via this forum :scarf:

That's a great scheme BUT how many people know about it? I certainly didn't.

The club really should offer a scheme along the same lines and promote it.

What happens when someone fails to meet their installments?

How would you stop people abusing the refer a friend scheme?

Games get rearranged etc, what provisions would you have in place in respect of the weekend/weekday season tickets?

Failure to meet your installments invalidates your season ticket. Mind you to administer it really you'd have to have smart credit card type season tickets.

I don't see how you can really abuse the refer a friend IF it only applies to brand new season ticket holders. You couldn't refer someone who is renewing.

Weekend season tickets, would entitle you to attend re-arranged games or a refund OR it could simply be a case of you pays your money and you takes your chance.

Something I touched upon in another thread, it just wouldn't work at all in our current set up unless you only released tickets in batches once the installment has gone through.

I've said it time and time again, people simply need to take a bit of personal responsibility instead of wanting their season ticket handed on a plate to them - there is nothing stopping people putting money aside through the season for their next ticket, we all know when renewal time is, we all know what kind of region to expect the price to be in....

Maybe it wouldnt work the rovers but it works with other clubs as they are doing it . And its not about putting abit away each week . I cant speak for everybody but i havent renewed this year as for personal reasons i have just recently become unempolyed and had to move house with wiped out my savings . Which i think something like this has effected alot of people in this area . So buying a season ticket outright would have been no problem 3 or 4 months ago now is .

And maybe looking into the other idea of selling half season ticket for the first half of the season that way it means you can pay half now and half it december / Jan .

You are wrong there. The fans are customers and should have no responsibility to purchase a product. It should be made as easy as it possibly can.

As I have said, we are one of three teams that do not offer the method of monthly direct debit payments for season tickets. Not every club who offers it has those electronic turnstyle's, so they must have a way of managing it.

We have offered abosolutely nothing apart from the norm. Pay for your season ticket and get it. Look at the kinds of offers other teams have. They are adapting to market conditions, which is what every good business should do. Unfortunately, DRFC do not adapt.
