They were reporting on SSN that he had resigned before, but they have suddenly changed the tack and said that he has walked.

I bet Billy wishes he'd have hung on for a couple of months. He'd have probably got a game under their next manager.

Hear we go, SOD will be out and out favorite for this job.  It's a good job they are skint and won't be able to afford him.

this is what i don't get though, its 2 league games into the new season and after what you would say, a good result against cardiff and the disastrous game against QPR which they conceded 3 goals inside 21 minutes. To much changing managment from board level, but surely if they thought blackwell was out of his depth they surely would wielded the exe before pre-season?

Bristol City have got a manager!

To be fair to Blackwell, I thought Sheff United looked decent last week against Cardiff. They weren't anywhere near as ugly as they have been in the past, so I thought maybe they'd started to turn the corner.... obviously their board and fans thought differently.

Ludicrous decision, by that I mean it should have happened long before now.

Lets see,

*Blackwell leads the Blades to the play offs before last season struggling throughout to prove themselves as serious play off contenders.

*Fans call for his head, McCabe shows loyalty by agreeing to sell a fans favourite to a local rival yet keep Blackwell in a job.

*McCabe further backs Blackwell by allowing him to sign 8 new players in the summer.

*Blackwell is sacked three games into the season.

Now as shite as Blackwell is, I think the problem may be further up the food chain.

I've sent the following e-mail in to the Football League Show. I wonder if it'll get read out?  ;)

Quote
I would like to pass on the following message to the Sheffield United Board on behalf of myself and every other Doncaster Rovers fan:

“Dear Sirs,

We  respectfully thank you for your exquisite timing in waiting until today before relieving yourself of the ever-charming Mr Blackwell.

It is only through this delay that the lifelong Blades fan Mr William Sharp was persuaded to part company with yourselves and join us here at the Keepmoat.

Had Mr Sharp known that Mr Blackwell would only have lasted two games into this season, I am sure that we would not now be enjoying seeing him ply his trade here at the Rovers.

Once again, thank you for your most charitable actions in keeping this information from Mr Sharp.

Bless you, and happy Christmas.”

I've seen the script.

1) Sharp scores 42 goals this season (admittedly, he'll need a bit better service than today like, but y'know...early season rustiness and all that.)

2) Prehz oh Grumbul is inundated wi Blehdz fans saying variations on a theme of \"Burra thought Billeh were a Bleeeeehhhhd. Seth. Why int eh plehin for' Blehdz ani mooah?\"

3) Gary Speed, the new Blades manager buys him next summer for £8million following a Jarrow-style march from 'Manoh to the KMS by 25,000 Blades fans who have never before set foot out of Sheffield and are fed by soup kitchens at Catcliffe and Thurcroft.

4) Sharp scores 1.2 goals in 74 matches over the next two seasons at Bramall Lane.

5) Donny re-sign Sharp for £25k and a couple of them volcanic Pizza Pods that they sell at the KMS, the latter being expressly requested by Kevin McCabe, so that they can insert them into the rectum of Howard Kendall, who has just taken over from Gary Speed and thus put some life into the slumbering Leviathan.

That'll never happen.

He'll be lucky to get 0.927 goals back there.
