Marching all together or not as the case maybe
« on September 18, 2010, 08:14:17 am by Bikka »
Marching all together or not as the case maybe, thought they were pretty well shut them up as we boo'ed every time they tried to get it going - great stuff, no 12th man from them.

Overrall I thought we made a decent amount of noise last night, went a little quiet second half, but them towards the end picked up again, bit like the team.

I tell you what though the booing off of Marching altogether, certainly worked a treat.

I also thought the chants of Wembley, albeit predictable, certainly rattled a few of them

Must admit I thought they were fairly quiet too, not surprising considering the trepidation they must have felt after the Dingles gave them a hiding.
Cue the 'they were the quietest home fans this season posts'.........I know we would have made far more noise if we had filled the North Stand last night instead of them.

Thought we were quiet as usual, too many people more interested in sitting down and chatting about the soaps. Its embarrassing tbh :(

So? People pay damn good money, they can come and watch and support how they want. There's no requirement to shout for 90 minutes. Personally I love a good chant, and am always singing especially at away games, but for instance my Dad likes to sit quite quietly and watch the game, concentrating on it and discussing tactical talking points with me.

Last night I wasn't feeling it at all in the second half, I was too tense and nobody was really signing as much as the first half anyway, so I did spend several periods of the game talking about irrelevant things with my friend.

first half last night we were the loudest we'd been in a long time in the south stand. yes second half it petered out a bit, but so did the game, lol.

i wish the crowd were that up for it every match.

Hence why the club should be reducing prices, introducing incentives, etc, to fill the place.  There is a massive difference in atmosphere between 3/4 full and nearly full.

yeah i agree, the difference in atmosphere once we approach 10k in the home stands is very big.

Couldn't agree more Rob.

We really should be filling the ground for a game like last night's. It's surely clear now that match-day admission prices are working against us.

Back to the subject of the thread - Leeds fans were really quiet and subdued last night. Obviously nervous after their thrashing at Oakwell but even so, I would have expected a bit more noise from them.

lets be honest though guys, if it was the original saturday @ 3pm game that it was supposed to be, and not on sky, it would have sold out even at the prices we charge.

You could be right Superspy, but as a Rovers fan who works in Blackburn, I had to sneak off from work early to endure a nightmare 2-and-a-half-hour drive across the Pennines in dreadful traffic in order to get to the game.
So I find it hard to understand how Donny fans could choose to sit at home and watch the game on TV instead of being there.

Just watched SOD being interviewed on the Football League Show, followed by Simon Grayson.

It was like watching Stephen Fry followed by Arthur Mullard.

I am so glad I'm a Rovers fan.

I just had a quick look on their fans' forum Waccoe to get a feel of their view of last night's game.

There is a whole thread dedicated to how crap our support is. Loads of Leeds fans have piled in to add their arrogant, patronising and vitriolic abuse.
Perhaps the most poignant, and in terms of depicting what it is to be a typical Leeds fan the most illuminating, is the following remark about us:

\"Doncaster Rovers symbolises everything that football shouldn't be\"

Now, how has this Leeds fan arrived at such a damning dismissal of our club? Are we so terrible? Or is the typical Leeds fan so poisoned that he feels it necessary to condemn a club like ours? Are they threatened by a team who have suffered the ignominy of relegation from the Football League only to rise from the ashes?

I tried to reply, but WACCOE doesn't allow the right of reply.

What sad bas**rds they are. Thank God I'm a Rovers fan.

As a club you know you are f**ked when all you can talk about is the strength of the support

Sad gits

............and to take it full circle, is it not prudent to stop talking about Leeds now, especially 2 days after and the game rightly done to death already on here. All we are doing is talking about.........well Leeds, and thus we become all the things we like to say about the Leeds fans.

Can we get onto QPR, injury news, club gossip, loanees, formations, player opinions etc etc

In fact there were more Leeds fans in their end at Wembley than they had there last night

I enjoyed this little snippet of wisdom from one of their deluded f**kwits on their forum. The sad thing is, he actually believes this  :woohoo:  :woohoo:  :woohoo: . What a w**ker.

But back on topic, as much as I love Doncaster Rovers, the support we get at games is shit. If you are at a football match at least stand and support the team, instead of sitting there looking disinterested. Something needs to be done to get all the hardcore together, because there are too many non-fanatics that just dilute the atmos to the point of embarassment. We can make a start by getting rid of that f**king drum
