Billy for England?!
« on October 18, 2010, 02:34:05 pm by inSODwetrust »
This is a serious thread!

If Kevin Davies can manage it at 33 years old surely Billy can, and Billy's passion is immense!!

Thoughts!!

Not for me. As good as Billy is i think he's found his level. Not quite got the pace to make it at the top and he's not big enough to be a target man

Not sure about found his level. I think he's capable of higher than us if truth be told, although not England class (yet)

If it was competition for passion alone then he may have a case.

Iv always thought we should choose a team of Championship or lower prem players that are in form and have a point to prove when we play teams such as Armenia, Andorra, MONTENEGRO etc. They'd certainly show alot more passion than the current crop that always look too relaxed when playing the minnows- Prima donna's.

Also, the other teams shut up shot against our big names in the internationals so A different group of players (less obvious stars, thus more evenly matched) would invite the opposition to have more of a go and make it more of a football match, playing as normal and allowing us a bit of space to break naturally rather than seeing the common scenario of a saturated final third with all the oppositions 11 men within 40 yards of their own goal as per usual. Billy would be a leading candidate if we adopted this approach. And who knows, a good performance may lead to an obligation to be included in the next squad.
