Loanee Targets lined up
« on October 25, 2010, 11:39:07 am by big fat yorkshire pudding »
Taken from an article in the Star given our lack of options up front.

\"We've got a list and it is just a case of picking the right one and hoping that he is available,\"

Fingers crossed we have one for Saturday.

The premier league is full of young striker who would revel playing in a  proper footballing side.

Andreas Wiemann - Anston Villa
Jose Baxter - Everton
Rhys Murphy - Arsenal
Nile Ranger - Newcastle

I believe any of these lads would bring something to the team. However im not SoD and I believe who every SoD brings in will do a good job. Is there anyone out of favour at Southampton

Come on Filo- it's a typo. He meant \"Aniston Villa\"- the country retreat given to Jennifer by Brad Pitt as part of their divorce settlement.

Presumably Andreas is the name of her toyboy!

Back on topic...

Has Nathan Delfouneso been getting any games at Villa? He looked a decent prospect when we played them in the FA Cup.

Impressed in the u21 game at the Keepmoat too.  I think that he regularly has a place on the bench at Villa but does not spend much time on the pitch.

A nice two-month loan spell to get him firing on all cylinders could be just the tonic for all parties then. Likewise JET.

For a short term fix how about Gary O'Connor from Birmingham who recently had a month at Barnsley ?

Doubt it, He played for Birmingham at the weekend. The move to Barnsley i think was to just get him a few games before putting him back in the first team more than anything.

Bugger !

To be honest, I would be very surprised if we did get anyone in due to funds etc. So, I'm trusting SOD will find a way of attacking that compensates for Billy's absence with the players we've got.

From what I've seen of Fairhurst this season, he's not up to it. Young lad Grayson may be an equal prospect.

Brooker needs to get a look in otherwise we need to pension him off. If we continue to make the most of Dumbuya and Mills getting beyond teams back lines then Brooker could profit.

Fairhurst has played 5 minutes of league football this season for us. Hardly enough to pass judgement.

Brooker isn't fit. Ask yourself why he isn't even getting on the bench. A lost cause, get rid of him.

Hayter while he is good at what he does, is never going to get a decent return on goals.

We need another option.

I've had a quick look on our feeder club's website, the only name that jumps out is David Connolly but reading a bit further he's not due back from injury for another week or so.

I trust SoD to come up with a gem from somewhere or other - who've Wolves got that's worth a look?!

How about Leon Best at Newcastle United.

He was at Bournemouth with SOD, is a good target man and seems to fit the bill. He could prove his fitness with us and we could guarantee him a start.

Hoilett from Blackburn or Richard Wood from West Brom could be realistic and useful loans. Wood scored against us after coming off the bench last season didnt he. Cant see him getting a look in with Odewinge (sp?) and Bednar aready at WBA, although they are as striker short with Luke Moore on loan at Derby.

Chris Wood from WBA is on loan at Barnsley at the minute.
